Roof vents open but locked in place, only windows open would be those next to us in bed (no valuables kept there) with the fly screens covering them to keep bugs and other larger critters out!
snap :)

I sleep in the over head cave.. As all the heat in the van seems to make a beeline for it The small top window is usually open ..

@Robert Clark how did you get on in the heat? What was YOUR solution!
Although windows open and snoring loudly would frighten any burglar off!!;) And I don't mean Mrs C!!

Mrs C doesn't snore - she's too busy talking at me.!

When it was 40 degrees we shut all the windows, stripped naked and danced under the icy blast of our Air Con

Until the leisure batteries went flat!!!

At which point Mrs C hoisted up her surgical stockings and went back outside, clasping her bag of humbugs and a copy of 'The People's Friend'

It depends where we are really. Maybe I'm not security minded enough but on most sites, particularly in the UK, I'm happy to leave the windows open, but on an Aire they'd probably be on vent with the roof open. We have 2 dogs to alert us of any intruder as long as we remember to wake them first :)

Bedroom window open and roof vent, when in bed, others closed except if it's hot hot.

What brought this up?
Me, because I'm new to this world and rather than starting a new thread I thought it better to seek out the information I was looking for. Isn't that the proper thing to do in forums?

Often wonder what happened to Robert Clark,

He got very moody, rude and argumentative. Three times he asked to be deleted. The third time, I remember being pleased to do so. It was a shame, but there you go, this place isn't for everyone. Good job too, we're busy enough, imagine the chaos and change if everybody wanted in! :D

No worries from me Jim , but always thinking what happened to folks who were so active then just disappear, he is not the only one by any means but it just happens that he came up in this one. 👍

Funny enough, for me, it's the other way around. I look at 16 years old threads, and I'm always nicely surprised when I find many of the posters are still here.

Given our demographic, plenty of members just disappear. I get dozens of letters a year from people who's motorhome spouse has died, so could we unsubscribe them. Then I get a minimum of two or three a week from people who have sold up, thank me for the fun and the help and ask to be unsubscribed.

So Jim, seeing as this in an old thread and I imagine things have changed since then, do I start a new thread on peoples thoughts on security at night with windows open or closed?

Can you not delete yourself…🤔 does that mean I’m a prisoner here kept in perpetuity for everyone’s ridicule forever….😱😱

Bedroom windows fully open, rest and all roof vents shut, but Maxxfan on extract. Nice cool air drawn in over the beds. 👍🏻
