Oooops

At garage being removed tommorow hopefully and of to get refurbed. Hopefully get it back end of next week deffo gearbox but what happened I don't know. Had a Google sounds like it's a troublesome box but plenty around and still being used today.

Thanks for that PORKSTER, I'm running the 3 litre Renault on our Burstner too, 90k on the clock and wondering if there was something I needed to be aware of ?

Used to run Renault traffic vans where I worked gearbox usually buggered at 70 k

We have had lots of Renault masters and Vauxhall Movano gearboxes go but I think these are 2.5ltr engines but gearbox could be the same on both engines

Vauxhall and Renault are well known for their chocolate gearboxes I'm afraid especially the 2.0ltr models

54000 miles on mine more than half those miles I have done in 5 years of ownership. Last service a few weeks ago I did have gearbox oil changed. But I am sure that's coincidental (I hope)
Like I said before no noises no warnings.
I won't dwell on it I just want it fixed properly in time for my sept holiday. And hope it's not stupid money.

1st gear synchro on mine isn't good from cold, but is fine once warmed up, been like that since we got it 30k miles ago.

Does make it more annoying when you have just lavished some love on it, but I like your outlook of not dwelling on it.

If your brave enuff Google Renault master gearbox plenty of info. I would maybe get it looked at prevention better than cure !!!!
Depends on your outlook I guess

Being the type that trusts very few.
I’d want to be at the garage as they drop the oil out of the gearbox.

Hope it works out ok for you

Back on the road happy days. Major bearing failure completely overhauled feels great and quieter (not that I realised it had any issues tbh) New clutch kit fitted also feels better. Couple of little small jobs. £2068 quid lighter in the pocket but as the wife said it's worth every penny.
