One week in north west France.

Would love to but just not possible with work and childcare. Kids staying with grandad a week and lives in Portsmouth.
Aha!! First time we went away without the kids, just for 5 days, friends said it will seem like so much longer because you won’t have any “are we nearly there yet?” Or “I’m hungry/bored etc” or “he hit me/that’s mine/battery in my ipad is flat etc etc” and it’s true! Relax and enjoy 👍😍

If you’re arriving in Portsmouth I’d look no further than St malo / Dinan in the north & Benodet, Concarneau in the south. Should be plenty for a week & can be varied by stopping on the way south or following the coast west. Either way it will be busy & campsites may need to be contacted the day before. Great place to start touring France.

Just found this thread as we are hoping to get back to France in October half term. We are tied to school holidays.
I wonder where the OP went....🤔

Hiya folks.

Looking for some nice places to visit in the Brittany/Loire area please. We only have a week and will be on ferry to Cherbourg or Caen. We love little traditional places. Lakes/sea/river areas. We aim to be going August and would like to use France Passion for some stays and maybe a site with a pool once or twice. Picture below of area we feel we have enough time to explore.

Thanks in advance

I assume you mean the Aire near the castle? We were only there for one night so didn't need any service, but not much use if you do lol! Does the other Aire have services?
Im down that away at the moment
Stopped at a place called Angers
16 euro with full services right by the river
Be retuning there on way home Friday

Had a fab few days at Angers. Got a two day pass from the tourist office and there was so much to do. Particularly enjoyed the visit and cocktail mixing at the Cointreau factory (get the bus there for maximum benefit😉) and the fabric museum. Ticket also included a nearby chateau, can’t remember the name, but it was really tall in a small pretty village. Chateau in angers was interesting too of course 👍
