One week in Normandy

What a great thread this is! :)

We are just planning a 2 week trip for mid May and have based ourselves in St Mere Eglise, then Bayeux and now looking for somewhere for the last 5 nights before getting ferry back from a port TBD.

Any suggestions - preferably to keep the other half happy as we'll have been doing WW2 for the past 10 days!
So for places to stop over we have stayed at the following
Honfleur
Arronmanches Les baines
Port en bessin
Isigny Sur mer
You can stay at Saint mere egliese and next to the beach at Utah
We had planned to stay at Banfleur but we are heading back towards Honfleur tomorrow for the vet
Also I found a great place called Gouville on search for sites. Right on the beach and would be great in May.

Great photos and great thread. Following with interest as I'll be visiting a lot of these places when I finally find time for my Band of Brothers themed trip.
If you need any advice that's me been to every band of brothers location from Normandy to Berchtesgaden.

Thanks, I'll probably take you up on that. Have all locations been easy enough to get parked close to with the MH?

Yes but a lot has changed over the last few years. Just let me know where you are going and I'll let you know best options and the best stuff to see. Bastogne is a must.

Okay last post before we head back on Saturday.

Visited Longue Sur Mer Gun Battery today it look like they are building a museum and visitor centre. They are also building a new museum at Arronmanches Les Bains
So after almost a week we found a good Aire at Neufchatel en bray and finally managed to get electric hookup. We secured the last space.🙂 Finally a bit of luck! We also used the Vet at Buchy who only charged us 8euro for the tablet and signing form.
It's been a bit more difficult out of season as there are no campsites open to fall back on.
Over and out 🇬🇧✌️

Yes it's been a good trip but I doubt we would travel abroad out of season unless it's a winter ski trip. Looking forward to our 2 weeks August summwr trip we might see you at Canterbury 29th July 🙂
We like that aire, used it a few times.

Have you enjoyed your trip?

Great thread Chris, thank you. Will come in very handy for the start of our trip!
