one of the best self builds ive seen for a long time - seriously very good !!

Interesting toilet concept. Didn’t catch if it was a separation system but it vacuum sealed all waste in plastic, which then collects in a large rubbish bag, that gets thrown away in the normal waste bins.

Not too sure how I feel about the environmental issues there. But here in Wales there is an abundance of raw sewage pumped into the sea by the water board which should be a national disgrace.

It's one of those you have to think about I suppose. If the bags are bio degradable and it's going in landfill or incineration, is it any worse than disposable nappies, dog waste etc ..... ?

Lovely van well thought out design and stylish too. That concrete finish is much better than the felt stuff. If it’s as good as they say.
The beams on the ceiling are the underside of their drop down bed. Figaro

Van lifers though🙄……
When she said,
“Like, when we did house life ….”

some nice touches but I must have blinked when they showed their wardrobe and clothes storage, there was some?

EDIT just rewound and found it beside the kitchen appliances..

I suppose its like most campers/motorhomes, if only it had ..... but it was the 'concrete' finish that really impressed me along with the lounge/drop down bed, i'm not so sure the bulkhead addition, cutting off the cab area, other than the hatch, was a good idea for me as i like to be able to access the living area from the cab area, but it obviously works for the ones that matter ....!

available in the UK - wonder when some of the UK Van/You Tubers will catch on to the product ....

It’s much worse if you work at the waste site and have to sort out the recyclables manually!

It looks great, I wonder how it will stand up to being in use all day every day. With a great lack of things in cupboards and empty storage areas either it hasn't been used yet or they emptied it for the filming. We would love to have the roll down bed but would need to do another van as ours is not tall enough.

I am very impressed. However, I would definitely want to be able to access the cab from inside. Partly for security, if I need to leave an area quickly, but also because of the unpredictable English weather.
Love the style of it, and the attention to detail. I'd like a freezer though.
Thanks for sharing.

It had been emptied as its in the process of being sold on.

shame they dont say how much it cost, or what it sold for .....it took them some considerable time and we dont know their skill levels, though they do admit to getting a lot of help from a self build group they were staying with - i love the idea of such a community all building their campers at the same time.

as there are quite a few appliances etc you could work out the cost of those, but in terms of the fitting out, who knows? the standard of finish on the cupboards/units/walls and upholstery are really impressive and the bathroom really is one of the best self builds i have seen. the solar panels that you can walk on, seem a great option, i wonder how long they will last .....

my comments above re the quality of the 'self 'build' though, take into account that even a professional conversion could be classed as a self build if the builder is doing it for himself!
