Ok we are here , got to turn round now

The a50 M1 M25 m.20 is the worst part but from where we live you have to do so much of it to get anywhere interesting in UK anyway.
Indeed. I use motorways only as a last resort and I do sympathise with those who have a long drive to get to a Channel port.
I suspect that on some occasions I've arrived home from the Newhaven ferry before the last vehicle has left the port.

Had this in Annecy last year, was ok nothing special

I can't for the life of me see why we don't eat horses or even dogs, why throw good meat away when people are starving.
I assume you mean elsewhere as you can't be starving in the Uk if you have a phone, smoke, drink, or sky.

To be honest not eaten in there. Only been in the once for a pint and looked at the menu in surprise. It's about 15/20 mins from us.
Disappointing to hear your story. How long ago was that.
Just before lock down! That's why I was asking

To add to my post above the bloke we spoke to has been coming here for years on his trips to Spain. He say CCP are only the latest owner of this aire. He remembers at least two other operators but when he first came here it was free.

Good place anyway, the Lac de Saint Perdoux is yards away and lunch minutes away. I echo chaser 's comment. France is worth visiting.

Hate using the van in the UK we to only live 20 miles from Newhaven.
We re doing the Hereford rally, already dreading driving there, plan to have two stops on route. A wild night at Stonehenge & a night at Quackers.

Horse meat is very popular in Slovenia, Hot Horse is a burger chain in Llubjana. I can remaember eating horse meat when I stayed with my French penfriend in the 70’s , her Dad was a butcher but didn’t seve it. You had to get it from specialist boucheries chevalines in those days. They had to have a special licence.

If God didn't mean us to eat animals why did he (she) make them out of meat.....

Today we got up late went to the bar and boulongerie, came back and sat here all day , it really is a hard life in France.

Do you think other vans are trying to tell us something, as they all go past these places beside us and park up the other end against the sewerage works.

No kidding 3 more vans have come in since my last post, there are 8 empty spaces around us but they are all crowding in at the far end.same view from them all.
Are we really that bad?

Would be happy about that, ideal having nobody 2ft from your door😁
Not worried about it, it just seems strange as this end is just as good and closer to walk to the village and that end is where all the emptying and bins are plus a sewerage works that smells and noisy all the time

I’m enjoying reading your thread btw 👍

5 km down the road from here is a free ferry that takes you across the Seine, we are going to give it a go tomorrow, has anyone else done it?

Dont know what you mean by gif, but the old free Aires or free parking anywhere is slowly disappearring and getting likel club sites back home.
This one we are on now is a belter and seen it mentioned many times on here, 7.50 euros.

You know what mate this trip has brought it all back, and you forget over two years of not coming what it is like over here, as long as this old van keeps running I don't think we are at the end yet.
For Anyone who was feeling the same, all I can say is get over here, or even people who are thinking of coming for the first time just get here before it all changes.
Didn't miss in 2020 and 2021..On our way again a week Tues.BUSBY.
