Hi. I don't know if this has come up before but sourcing an oil filter for my Hymer 544 Fiat 2.8JTD 1999 has become a problem.
Used to order Mahle OC 486 filter which was 93mm diameter now it's 110mm and won't fit, and confusingly Fiat seems to have changed the dimensions to a different thread which won't fit.
Someone must have come across this and have an answer otherwise I'll have to change my housing for a different thread!!.
I must be missing something here..

Living the dream.
Contact your local motor factors with all your vehicle details, they should find you one.

But stick with a quality one, Mann/ Mahle/ puriflux and not a Mickey Mouse one

Always get my filters from local motor factors based on registration number, never had a problem with my 2.8jtd 2002 fitting. I think its Mann they usually provide and never let me down.

I know when I order an oil filter for my 2003 2.8 jtd two options come up.
I've always picked the correct one so far, and i saved the box from the last one giving the spec etc.
Might be worth buying both and returning the one that doesn't fit. I'm sure it'll still be manufactured.

Mahle website has it as 93.2mm does the box have the part # as listed below?
Box & Filter marked correctly?
Picking/Packing error?

Since May 05 (Ex Tuggers).
Thought the 1999 2.8ltr was the IDTD, not the JTD which arrived in 2002.
Yes John. The 1999 2.8 IDTD and 2.8 TDi are technically Iveco engines with a direct injection system.
Our 2.8TDi engine took the Fram filter PH4847, which looks exactly the same as the filter just bought for our 3.0ltr Iveco.

The 2.8JTD is basically the same engine but with electronic fuel injection.

Cheers,

Jock. ;)

Evening everyone! Our N&B Arto is due an oil and filter change...my mechanic who looks after my Mercedes Vito says he can do it.
My question is...is there anything I should tell him specifically about doing this job? Do any of you A class owners do your own?

Should be a simple job for a mechanic, oil and filter change is his bread and butter, I'm sure he'll know what to do.
It's a particularly easy job on a Ducato, not familiar with MB

It's an Niesmann and Bischoff Arto A class...I was wondering about the access.

I don't know where the filter is on a MB but I'm sure your mechanic will and it won't be difficult to get to, even on a A class
