Offgrid Power Solutions-Big Thumbs up

Yes, see it now. Post 1 didn't mention it although the implication was there. Post 12 did say it is 3 way.
Although compressor fridges are now being used in some vans, the vast majority of motorhomes still have 3 way absorption fridges. We have just had our first experience of a 12V compressor fridge. Very much quieter than some people suggested and did not disturb us at all at night. Seems to be very efficient and quick to cool down. The catering department seems to like it a lot more than the previous absorption fridge, despite it being smaller.

Thanks Lenny, in this particular case it was great that all the Victron kit could be mounted upright so as to enable the most efficient cooling.
It is the way I'm looking at doing it in my Compactline (when I eventually get it) only thing I'm not happy with is the long cable run from the batteries to the Multiplus. Still not 100% sure where the batteries are in the model we have ordered, I know where they are in other versions & I think they will be a pig to get at.

Can you not relocate the batteries, so much nicer if everything is grouped together?

Have you downloaded a manual yet Lenny?

A big thanks to Nigel and Roger for the Victron upgrade they recently carried out. Really nice people and their work and knowledge is firstclass.

I have had installed Victron multi plus 2, XS b2b, MPPT, Cerbo & Screen, shunt and Lynx, 2x 280 fog star.

This upgrade will give us so much more flexibility and off grid opportunities. As a test/trial we ran the fridge on Battery last night, worked a treat with it taking about 20% out, which then got replenished after a two hour drive. So we can mix and match what we run on electric and gas subject to how much driving we will do per trip etc.

Before and after pictures below.

I will be putting the 1800w Dometic Inverter and controller on the classifieds shortly.- if any one interested?

Great install👍 where did you put the battery’s? When I do that I’ll have to use what we call “the cellar” under the kitchen floor as the locker where the battery’s are now is tiny🤷‍♂️🙄

When my old absorption fridge got shaken on Romanian potholes it was a blessing in disguise. Changed to compressor fridge and love it.

G1969 I’d be interested to know how much solar did you manage to fit on the roof? Space is a bit tight on an E Line 50.

I haven't added any extra yet, just two 135w panels at the moment. Looking to possibly put two 100w panels on the front.
