Ocean Parking Charge - Advice Please?

It sucks and I hate it too, it’s ridiculous! The current law in England and Wales however means pay up or possibly end up with a CCJ and an even bigger fine. Once courts and bailiffs get involved, it just costs you more, in stress and money.

To get a CCJ against you it has to go to Court.
For that to happen you need to be informed by post first.

The time on the photo suggests 1741 hrs
The time on the board suggests parking fees required up to 2100 hrs

Yes, by which time the reduced payment period is usually gone and the administrative fees for the court action are also added.

Either way, the longer you leave it, the more it costs.

If you have written to them the reduced payment time is extended.

I’m sure I have read more than once that these companies are not keen on going to court as it costs them too much in man hours.

I would be bloody annoyed, but pay it, ultimately I'm the one in the wrong, it hurts to pay but in a few weeks forgotten, fight it and it and becomes something not worth the effort or worry.

I use a council park regularly during free periods

Seen so many tickets for poor parking

The other week I stranded the van whilst I got the ticket in-between rain downfalls.intending to reposition once I'd got a ticket

Kind lady came up and said becareful your over the line they will book you.

Mine was at a similar angle to the photo when she approached.
I know of one where people drive in & stop at the machine which is away from large vehicle parking, get out to get a ticket before driving the 5 miles to their parking area & whilst waiting to get ticket the slippery barsteward tickets them

But as the hatched areas are in white they could constitute part of your bay to allow door opening so the OP would be withing his "marked bay"?
No a hatched area is clearly not a marked bay or part of it, even an idiot would know that wouldn't they🤔

Depends on the information provided on the board.

There are many "idiots" everywhere. You can't "assume" we are all the same

I didn’t explain properly.

I was referring to getting a ccj, you would be informed the course of action being taken.

They can’t get a judgement without your knowledge.

I think the money grabbing bar*Ted's are taking the pee.

The parking rules for parking within a marked bay is so people don't park over two spaces restricting the spaces avalible.

Parking one wheel on those hatched lines is not inconveniencing anyone, they are being totally unreasonable.

Peel Centre, us that the one with two separate car parks? Seem to remember nearly being caught out there a few years ago when I took the MiL to BnM ,..

What about 1p MORE then they can't say you have not paid the full amount  and it will still f@ck there system up
Underpaying will trigger their debt recovery systems though.

“Oh dear, have I made a mistake?”

Whilst it would never ever get to court, it will certainly bugger the company about a fair bit.

Not if it is provided to allow "access" to my vehicle ,it is part of my bay.If it is yellow hatch then it is not allowed to be parked on.White is door opening room

They can . Especially if you move & they use original address.

So not part of the marked bay? Not sure this was even door opening room looked more like the end of row or marked to allow others to turn or something.

The checked area is only around that bay, none of the others seem to have it. Was it a disabled bay and you have the blue badge, you could argue your parking restricted only your access, not anyone else?

I have just had another look at the pic as this thread is still running

Is there some sort of marking on the bay

Maybe mother & child

The chevron is there to ensure the child can.be put into the vehicle safely.

Hold my hand up I have parked in mother and child very late at night when the majority of children are in bed, and if there another 20 spaces for families with children I don't think it's an issue.

But looking at the time stamp i wonder if a complaint was made as it looks like a builders van and there appears to be no child seat
