Now have to avoid Belgium & Luxembourge to visit Germany

They’ll be no border controls. The Belgium and Luxembourg thing is a UK rule.
You may find some on the german border with Luxembourg. I m not up to speed with it but a couple of weeks ago the federal state that Trier belongs to determined that you were a Luxembourg citizen if you stayed 3 nights there and if you were a Luxembourg citizen it was 14 days quarantine if you entered that Federal State.
I would expect that to still be in place

3 hours 8 minutes from tunnel to border at Aachen which has a stellplatz and a cathedral that is in the top 100 tourist sites of Germany.
Perhaps all the late August September travellers ought to have a rolling meet there like the moselle one at Reil
I also found a volcanic lake around there somewhere when checking earlier with bubbling water !
Definitely an easy drive from the Tunnel but no chance of getting there in that time ;-) Its more like 4hr 15/30. I work in Hasselt about 35 mins by car from Aachen and with no traffic in either Antwerp or the Brussels Ring road the quickest has been 3hrs 10 and that's right at the BE/FR speed limits.

Also Aachen Stellplatz is in the LEZ zone so you will need an Umwelt sticker or pick-up at the first TUV office when in Germany.

Good info.
I just whacked it into google maps and saw the time.
You are so right about Antwerp and/or Brussels, that could add a substantial amount to any journey.
Also didnt realise about LEZ zone. We have the umwelt.

Another option maybe Holland. If Belgium and France are Q'd then Sas Van Gent is right on the Dutch/Belgian border with a free aire against the canal (no water or dump) and is a known 2 hours to tunnel with nothing like Antwerp in the way.

Nobody can check how long you have been in each country - no border checks.
Yet , after the bombing in euro land couple of yrs ago the French border on A16 soon got a check system everything coming off A16 so won’t take long for authority to implement checks at all

Well after a brief chat we have decided to visit Berlin from the meet in Reil. Only another 6 hrs driving, so 2 days for me and free parking next to bus station will do us nicely. I was a serving solider there in the very early 70's and it will be great to re-visit.

I am unsure about this.
I need to state I will be abiding by all rules.
But, they are highly likely to have ANPR on the borders of countries. They may show you never exited France for example or went into France 2 weeks after entering Spain and 2 days previously.
Whether the UK have access to have that information is debatable as I believe the information sharing protocol does not cover "Freedom of movement of citizens" and the European countries are not interested in assisting the UK with their domestic policy against the interests of their own countries.
Germany really dont like infringing upon civil liberties.

I know that if I went to a naughty country within the time restraints, best not to get a speeding ticket if the journey didnt fit in with a "transit"
So much easier to abide by the rules !

We travelled from the Mosel to Berlin in 2016. We stopped overnight 3 times though. Stopping places on this map and in the description here

Thanks for that! I will have a look ! Well I have had a look and no detail visible and no links from numbers on map. Not to worry, I will find plenty of stopping places along my route.

I did have a bit of trouble with the software I used to create the map and linking it to text. I think in the end, I gave up and just created a PDF separately with Camper Contact numbers. Sorry if it doesn’t help.
