Northern Ireland & Republic of Ireland holiday July-Aug 2022

You really should come to Northern Ireland (but then I would say that)
But - please be aware that Fri 8th July is the start of the "July fortnight" here, which is the traditional holiday period in much of the North.
A lot of the popular holiday locations along the coast will be busy.
You could spend some time in and around Enniskillen and the Fermanagh Lakes, which is always a lot quieter than the coast.
Fermanagh is our "lake district" and can be amazing (when it is not raining) and a easy 2 hr drive from Belfast.

Yes, I would definitely have a look at NI first, it's lovely. We picked up the wild atlantic way at Rathmullen and to be honest, it's not ideal for moho's, obviously depending what size you are, we are 7.5m. You have to remember that the WAW is not specifically for motorhomes, and it's probably more suited to people in cars nipping down to the beauty spots to have a look.

Some of the roads are naff and more than once we regretted making a decision to go and have a look at a certain place on the WAW.

I drive an artic with abnormal loads for a living, so I'm not easily phased, but I did question some of our decisions. Also remember that a lot of beach locations are putting the height barriers in place until September.

I'm sure you'll enjoy wherever you go though but just don't expect parking wherever you end up.

We caught the P&O ferry to Dublin this morning at 09.30.
Total return from Liverpool to Dublin including a return night crossing including cabin was £455.00
We now realise it also includes all meal.
Full English breakfast. Soup and fresh rolls for lunch and choice of evening meal just prior to docking at 05.30.
All inclusive cruise -- A bargain :Eeek: :drinks:

I'm sure you have seen much of the below before but there is a plethora of stuff in that neck of the woods! I remember being forced to stop in an area that 'had nothing to offer' and was amazed at what was there! On the way up from Dublin, must sees are Clontarf Castle, Howth head, Portmarnock strand, Malahide for a posh lunch, Swords Castle, donabate and Skerries beaches, Laytown Strand, Drogheda town rail bridge (foundations are made of cotton wool), Newgrange, Castlebellingham, Navan Fort, Carlingford peninsula, Newry town for the stock up, Warrenpoint and Tyrella Beach, Newcastle, Dundrum, Castlewellan forest park, Downpatrick (not to be missed), Strangford-Portaferry ferry (could be tough or prevented with some MHs - if you get across - the Ards Peninsula) Saintfield factory shop (tweeds and knits), up to Belfast - visit opportunites too great to list - then out the road toward Larne but not without doing the tour of the murals in Belfast and also Carrickfergus Castle. There is loads!!!! Sorry- local knowledge...
Paul you could get a job working for NI Tourist board :)

I’m going with Stena, Cairnryan to Belfast, in a week’s time for 2 weeks, £325, booked direct with Stena. I got 5% back by using Top Cashback.
CMC do a discount but it seems any alterations, such as running late for instance, would have to be done by CMC. Not much help if it’s out of office hours!
