At some point in September or early October we will be making our way back (boo) from the Garda region and heading to brugges or maybe Gentt. Ideally looking for a non toll , hopefully motorway free route back which has interesting stops / pretty routes .

Are there any previous threads that give some ideas which I can look at and plot our stops ?

Thanks in anticipation

Dial up Google maps, then Großglockner, Felbertuan and the Plöcken pass, click on the street view and or photo points, you will then see what we see when we go that way....
Hard to describe how scenic, peaceful, dramatic and wow that route is...
We do this 5-6 times a year in the MH and other times in the cabrio, we never get tired of it.

If you have not been over the Grossglockner pass then that's well worth it.
There is a nice stelplatz at Bad Aibling
There are plentiful places to stay as you head north. Only issue might be if you prefer campsites some may close at that time of year?
We are staying here in a few weeks

We have stayed here in Brugge, it is an excellent campsite.
Can also thoroughly recommend kocklescheur campsite in Luxembourg.
Free bus stop about 10 mins walk from campsite and nice cycling/walking through the trees and around the nearby lake.
Petrusse casemates also a must see (book in advance to get an English speaking tour).
Luxembourg is a highly underated destination imo.
I'm going back in a few weeks too 👍

First time we went there in camping garb, shorts and polo shirt I found that everyone dining for lunch was wearing svelt clothing. The local business class on siesta. Next time we went we took some decent clothes, a long frock (her, not me), long trousers and a good shirt. We dined in style and felt at at ease. Did this again next time but since then have migrated to the country charms of Deikirch.
