We're heading to Norwich for the Motorhome Show from the Welshpool/Shrewsbury area. Last time we were in that part of the world we went the A14, A11 route and hated it.
This time we're going to try M54 onto the A5 to Hinkley then up the A47.
Saying that, the last time we went we were heading just west of Lowestoft so maybe it made more sense going the A14 A11 route.
Can anyone vouch for the A47 route, is it a decent road? There seemed to be a plague of speed cameras on the A14, A11 route. Just couldn't relax and enjoy the drive!
Thanks Paul. It's been 5 years since I went the A14 , A11 route. The route is a bit hazy now but if I can remember right the issue of speed cameras was with the A14. I felt that I was concentrating more on my speedometer than I was on the road which isn't healthy, certainly not pleasurable.I don't know how long its been since you used the A11 but its now dual carriageway all the way and a really nice road. No idea about the rest of your route but the last 20 miles or so should be dead easy.

I see no reason why Warners should say no as you have paid ...... but is there nobody that could drive your m/h there and back for you if you will be well enough?Been to the hospital today for pre-op checks, 2 smaller arteries partially blocked and another bigger one as well, not sure if they will do them all at once or not, but an overnight stay anyway, and most dissapointedly, no driving for 7 days after the 18th , so camping at the show will not be possible as the wife will not drive the M/H.
does anyone know if I would be able to use the passes we already have as day tickets or not??.
We live near Norwich Airport, but have resigned ourselves to being day visitors as opposed to campers, my wife can drive me there on both days if necessary, I know I won't feel like driving only3 days after the op, thanks for the thoughts of a rescue operation though.Where about's in Norfolk do you live and the distance from the showground? I am sure the members who live in Norfolk could organise a rescue operation, that is dependant on your recovery i have had heart surgery and i would suggest that you may not be fully recovered in that short space of time. I hope the operation is successful and you get well soon.
