No LPG!? (Scotland Central Belt)

LPG available at Perth. I filled up last month and enquired if he intended to give up, but he was going to keep supplying it because of the number of campers through the summer.

LPG isn’t actually going to disappear completely but at the moment there is definitely a distribution / supply problem.
We as a business have our own LPG pump on site and our suppliers have kept us with stock.
My suspicion is that the decision not to keep the Autogas LPG pumps supplied is not just distribution problems but also financial.
Exchangeable cylinders have been in short supply for 2 years or more and there is no sign of that improving, we saw these problems coming many weeks ago , the leisure market is unfortunately small and very seasonal so I can’t see Calor racing to improve things quickly.
Good to hear you still have LPG! I’m gonna need to fill up next month when you do my install. (y) I’m kind of hoping that this supply shortage will sort itself out a bit for the future too. Not much point spending a lot of money on underslung tanks if I can’t fill them anywhere.
Does anyone know if you can fill up at Calor dealers premises? Probably not but maybe that’s a way round the future problem when Morrisons stop selling it?

With sumner coming the demand will drop which inevitably leads to lower prices, LPG will always be available it’s just a panic at the moment as it’s not as evident on forecourt’s.
More leisure businesses are installing LPG pumps now and a few fuel merchants are seeing the market possibilities.
Too many gloom and doom merchants around , Waiting to see what happens in the next few weeks with Calor cylinders as I can see tears coming when they realise that they can’t get any .
I warned our staff about this several weeks ago and we put some measures in place to ensure we had some LPG for ourselves .

That’s the problem now with supplying LPG it’s very seasonal unlike when the main use was cars .
We have also been thinking about a minimum charge as the 1 litre sales take too much staff time and actually cost us money.

I'm definitely not a fan of Calor, but I was given a half empty 19kg propane bottle to use in my workshop and it ran out last week. My son knows a guy who has a small static site and uses lots of their big 47 kg bottles and also supplies them to game bird rearing farms. I asked how much to exchange the 19kg bottle and he quoted me £33 (mate's rates ?) so I snapped his hand off as I know a local outlet wanted £44 for a 13kg butane bottle for a friend's Super Ser, he did say though that all the smaller size bottles are MUCH more expensive
As an aside, a local pheasant breeder asked him to supply 140 of the 47 kg bottles, he put his order in with Calor and they would only deliver 62 bottles, if there's a particularly hard cold snap, he's gonna have a lot of dead chicks on his hands ?
The pheasant guy also said he couldn't get any partridge chicks at all as they come from France and the bird flu restrictions were playing havoc with supplies.
I really can’t understand what Calor have been playing at for the last couple of years !
There was a BBC News article on the shortage of Calor cylinders, one dealer alone said he was thousands of cylinders short ⚠️

Just to let you know Morrisons at The Fort Glasgow now have LPG back in stock 82.7p

Try the local gas suppliers, I’ve used Flogas in Burnley, Bolton Bottled Gas and Harris Gas in Northwich. All supply bottled gas but also have a pump.
