No 12v sockets in new Motorhome

Possibly I'm missing something but aren't USB sockets just a newer and better version of 12v cigar lighter sockets? I get you might have a few bits of kit that have 12v socket type leads for which you can get adapters such as these:

USB supplies substantially less power. Not normally an issue for electronics. That adapter limits you to 8 watts.

I did wonder if that might be the case. (y)

Hi casper, where in yorks you from scarborough here

So what happened Casper46 ?
Did you find them or fix some more?
I fitted a max air fan over the rear bed, a bit of a problem with hiding the cable but the lads fitting a camera left me a slot to hide most of it. The Fantastic can be plugged in above the sink but needs a 12v extension lead to place it on the floor.

We live near Selby, it was a small village when we first came 40 years ago but it will eventually join up with surrounding villages.

Nice , we stay at broughton quite often next to the canal and have a wander into selby

We don't have a Carthago but have you tried looking on any reading lights you may have. We have a usb port in each of ours but never noticed them right away as they face upwards on the fitting.

USB is at 5volts DC, the Cigar socket is 12 volts DC (well, within the range of the battery up to 14.7 or so). So a USB to Cigar has to have a step up transformer the black box in the middle, I suppose.

We had as standard only one 12v socket by the TV and two on the dashboard. No USBs at all. I fitted four usb in the bedroom to charge our phones tablets etc and a load at the front for satnavs and so on.

Also fitted a double 12v in the garage which did already have a double mains socket.
