Hi, just posting this Incase you have a similar problem, my cruise control stopped working and the anti brake/anti skid light came on my dash. Didn’t realise the cause until my MOT failure was no brake lights. Turned out to be the brake pedal switch intermittently failing. Once changed strangely cruise control worked and no more anti brake/skid light on dash
 
cruise control is always linked to tr¡he brake light switch & is why it is double pole.one to bring on the brake lights = normally open & one that makes circuit for the cruise = normally closed. If it is a manual then there will usually be another switch = normally closed for the cruise circuit on the clutch pedal .
Oh & the handbrake switch is also wired through the cruise contro.
Another fault you can also get when the brake light switch plays up by coming on is the engine management light if you have your foot on thge accelerator.
