Nice French towns near Andorra?

Hi All,
Can anyone recommend a nice place to stop in France, near Andorra please?

Our plan is to ride into Andorra on the Vespa for some shopping. Obviously my plan is to look at bike gear. Where as Mrs DaveClare wants other things.

That's why we're going in on the Vespa

Probably Aix Les Thermes is the nearest but there would still be quite a lot of climbing to Andorra. Also the roads are heavily patrolled by police and customs checking for imports.

We are looking at doing the same and riding the Duke 390 into Andorra

FOIX, not that near to Andorra, but nice with an old castle to visit. And also Mirepoix.
I took Marie and Rex there "Penelopepitstop" (they seem to not be funsters anymore???)

We ended up going into Andorra and staying in one of the central sites for a few days. Stunning drive in through Spain and out through France.

We thought about this but the smartphones won't work maybe we can survive for a couple of days though

we did. Just! And bombed around on the Vespa. Visited a few bike clothing stores. But was disappointed with the prices.

They’re both towns I would like to visit … it looks like a beautiful part of the country.
