Thank you for your concern - will try to clarify our position for you & anyone else with similar concerns.
This isn't a Fun rally so not using the clubs camping exemption certificate or insurance. It isn't a Fun meet where we greet everyone & usually organise gatherings, group trips or meals together. It is a negotiated discount for Fun members who are booking direct with Appletree for their temporary campsite where members will be parked up by the Appletree staff. To make sure this is not abused by other non-members they do have to give their details hence the need for the posts on here. We understand that this camping area has all the required COVID Safe measures in place, all appropriate licences & permissions which were rechecked again after the recent Government ruling. Their staff will be strict about policing any social gatherings & enforcing the rule of 6 at most. All attending will be made well aware of the need to social distance.
Having recently attended Pershore Rally which was expertly run & managed by Emmit & his team we know that as responsible adults we can camp & stay safe with the appropriate measures in place & us all respecting each other by social distancing. Will admit it's not the same without handshakes & hugs or being able to gather together but individual social distanced friendly chats are the best we can do right now & that friendship makes a world of difference to some of us.

Yes it is a sensitive issue. I don’t know you - you don’t know me and I am far from telling anybody what they cannot and can do. The Government can however and I can see no matter how you dress the event up but a meeting up of some 12 ish units with a common cause maybe outside of my interpretation of what we are being asked to do. But again it’s just my view which I made clear in my earlier post. You have no right to be rude or be critical of my view, this is a forum. Enjoy yourselves sounds like the weathers going to be good.

This whole situation is a worry for us all, but we are trying to enjoy life as best we can. I have a mum with severe dementia, and my life is far from good at the moment, as are a lot of others on here.

On this forum, I think I am allowed to be critical of your view, as you are mine, and if I sounded rude, I apologise (although I had already explained that in the sentence anyway).

We will certainly enjoy ourselves, as we did at Pershore, and hopefully the weather will be good.

Thank you Wombles. That was my interpretation and I am sure it will be a success - it certainly sounds as if you have put a lot of work into organizing it.
I am possibly confused as I thought if one was to say invite an extended family to the park from Monday for a picnic as long as a group of 6 or less we’re 2m apart it would be against the legislation and more importantly against the spirit of whats trying to be achieved. I know at our golf club although there could be something like 32 entered for a friendly competition we would only keep to the 4 people within our team and not pair off into another group of 4 or 6 afterwards for a chat. Frustrating but with the spread doubling almost on a daily basis we are happier with that position.
Again I hope it goes well - a beautiful part of the world where we returned from a couple of weeks ago at Black Knowl, it was busy but we went independently.
