Newhaven ferry parking and traffic. (1 Viewer)

We catch the 9.30am ferry to Dieppe on Thursday, we understand that you can overnight at the ferry terminal carpark if you have a morning booking. Coming from the West Midlands we plan to go down the M40 to M25 then onto M23 and make our way to Newhaven, we would like to arrive at about 6pm and wondered what the traffic conditions are like from the M25 to Newhaven at that time of day?
We normally use the tunnel but thought we would like a change - it's cheaper and closer to our initial destination.

From the A23 to Newhaven you'll be taking the A27 dual carriageway as the alternative is more or less twisty country roads. It can get busy at rush hour on the A27 around Lewes but since you'll not be crossing til the next day and can overnight at the port a bit of slow moving traffic won't be an issue.
