I'm new to it
As the title says we are going to look at this MH over the weekend if possible but need a bit of info. Have you owned one what did you think of it ? What do you think of the price ? ( it was up for £17500 but got no bids) What should we look for fault wise ? Lastly is it too small or is that difficult question as everyones different ? Thankyou

:WelcomeFlag:Hello and welcome.
Good luck with the search , just don’t rush , your van is out there I’m sure,
Drop down beds are good but as me and my hubbie go to bed st various times ( me first ) we needed a bed that left the lounging area still free.
Just a thought.

Oh yes we hired for a week ( very expensive )but made us realise we didn’t want the overcab bed with a bunk bed ladder been there done that with our girls!)

We changed our first van after 3 years and are now on our 4 th and hopefully final design! ( no van is perfect and compromise is always needed but enjoy when you do find your van!)

I’ve said it before and i’ll Say it again....
Look at every van you can, old/new, doesn’t matter as you will get to know what you want/need in a van.
Spend time in the vans, play act out prepping & cooking a meal, eating, sleeping and quite important using the wash/shower/loo facilities. Are you sure there is enough room to sit on the loo comfortably and is there enough room to dry yourself after a wash/shower?
Don’t jump at the first van you see that you can afford, a lot of people make the mistake of getting carried away & then regretting it & loosing a lot of money!
Don’t be put off older vans, (ours is 18) just be careful!

We too had a 709f - outside storage was fine - table and chairs went in the outside underbed locker. Shower was fine and the bed fitted us ok. Only downside for us was the drivers view being impaired by the blind track and the lounging area - great in the summer when you sit outside but not so comfy in the winter.
One of the first questions I ask myself when looking at a van is where the table and chairs are going to be stored. I also try sitting on the loo and also act out taking a shower to make sure there is enough room for me.

Very good advice.

Lift the seat of the loo before you sit down as they are quite flimsy - leave your pants up though. Make sure you can close the door before you sit on the loo. Where will the loo roll live? Make sure the shower isn't going to drip on it !!!!

Close the shower screen before you pretend to use the shower and check if the shower head and hose will stretch to rinse your "bits". Oh and before you do that check there is room to apply your chosen shower gel / shampoo to your body within the shower enclosure - and that you can pick up anything that you have dropped - if you drop something when showering and can't get to it without opening the door to the main van and the blinds are up you will soon be  and :swear2:

I cannot imagine any designer allowing a MH to fail any of those tests, but maybe you know better.

Certainly our Arto passes all of them in a combined shower/toilet compartment. Don't like the new trend of separater - takes too much floor space at expense of kitchen/lounge/storage.

As for "Drop down beds are good but as me and my hubbie go to bed st various times ( me first ) we needed a bed that left the lounging area still free."

Our drop-down leaves the 'L'-shaped settee free, but of course not the swivel Captain's seats, so there is still ability for one to be in bed and one stting.
