New van, quality control?

Hello Funsters, we have owned a brand new Auto Trail V Line for just over three months and can’t believe some of the iffy design, faults and quality control issues that we are still trying resolve. Am I being unreasonable or is this typical, industry wide? I’m not a youtuber but I felt compelled to post a review of the first three months of ownership that I think would be worth a watch by anyone considering a new van of any make. My review is thirty mins long so it is split into two parts with part two most informative! Parts 1 & 2 as follows:

and

And remember. Never use chlorine based water treatments to sterilise your fresh water tank. i.e. bleach, Milton, etc. It eats stainless steel!

Thanks for that review Rogeroger - very interesting viewing but must be incredibly depressing for you! As you say, luckily you have the skills and equipment to do some of the mods yourself but the van should never have left the factory, let alone the dealership with those faults.
Hope you finally get everything sorted to your satisfaction and go on to enjoy many happy trips.

Our van was the former demo vehicle for a major dealer.
Hence we got it at 18 months old with 6K miles on the clock as it had attended every trade show for two summers.

The good bit was they had fixed all the items on the snagging list, so we have very few rattles and breakages.
The only downside was they had not fitted some items, we had a big satellite dish and a decent TV, but nothing in-between !
We also found a big section of the rubber seal had been cut out of a locker so they could feed in a 240v cable to run all the extra lights and promo stuff.
Whilst the beds had never been slept on, and the shower, water and sink never used we found the table seat cushions have been well abused.

Thanks for all the supportive comments. I think it is a bit too easy to blame covid, brexit etc. I stand by my comment re Milton or bleach to purify your water system. Personal experience of a damaged Truma ultrastore after five years of the use of Milton tablets with the first post winter fills. Truma recommend use of citric acid, as I found out too late!
