Hi all we are looking out for our first Motorhome. We’ve read a few online chats and watched loads of videos. We’ve deceiced we want a fixed bed as most of the time it will be two of us… kids are getting bold and youngest is 17 so no need to put beds up on arrival. We want a decent garage to store bikes for us and bits etc. we’ve seen a lovely Etrusco 7400 qbc that’s new…. If we doing this let’s do it! Thoughts on the brand are we starting to big … what else do we need to start and costs?

Welcome... You don't say where you are in the country, but there are a few shows coming up:

It worth going along as a day visitor if you can as you get to see lots of vans and layouts from many different dealers. Alternatively, get around to as many dealers as you can nearby and look at everything they have and think about how it might, or might not work for you layout wise. it will allow you to discount everything you thought was important but allow you to focus on the things that will allow you to make the most of your investment.

Hi welcome, don’t know your choice of van but layout is everything, and make sure you have a C1 license if it’s over 3500 mam.

As people have already said go and see lots of different van even hire a couple first expensive i know but loads cheaper than buying something you think will work just to find out it doesnt and yoru hen either stuck with it or taking a loss to flog it and get what you want, im on about my 6th van and only just found the 1 (similar situation with wives just not found the 1)

We have a fixed bed longitudinally across the back of our Autotrail Apache 632. It works for us but getting up on to it is becoming harder as we get older and may involve a foldable step or two in the not too distant future. We’ve looked at electric bed set ups and a friend has this in a 6.5m MoHo and seems to have lots of room when it’s packed away and is easy to climb on to when down, this will probably be what we go for next I think.
