New ski/boarding season

Nuisance in a free world isn’t it ? You would think foreign countries like tourists spending lots of money on their countries, pleased that we don’t have to adhere to the whole Schengen saga , we just travel as long as we want.
I think it's very unfair if in Spain as an example. You purchase a house pre-brexit and Spain will not offer you a long stay Visa.

But, up until February 2025, if you buy a house over €500.000 you can get a Golden Visa.

There loss, I think we will spend more time in the UAE and Ski in Georgia

It is weird, if you own property you should be able to spend as much time in it as you like👍

Son in law is looking for somewhere different to tignes this year, but as they go in school holidays at Easter it needs to be high (2000 m+) for guaranteed snow.
got to be Val Thorens in the 3 valleys Olley. It's where we always went with the kids in Half Term for a few reasons.

1) it's high 2300 meters and if it ain't white in VT its white nowhere.
2) you can book the car park, lacks facilities other than water and waste but you can and people do use Gennys, (responsibly)
3) nice distance, easy drive

You could go lower as suggested and stop at Les Men, but you can't book it and it can be very very busy, leaving you parked on the road.

also VT will never ever bore you of it's snow.... The 3 valleys is ace

Thanks haggers I will mention it to him.
They usually book self catering flats so only need parking for a car.
We all went once in the RV to Les Deux Alpes, and stayed at Venosc but my wife will not go again.
So they will be with there usual crowd, pity as I now get a free ski pass.

Free ski pass you say ?

Depends on the resort but French are usually around 71-2 years old, tignes was 71 and Les deaux about the same if I remember.
A quick Google and apparently some Swiss are 64 but only for women.
A very decent saving as I think tignes is at least £400 now for the week.
I haven't been since 2019 so I was looking forward to that.

HI all, late to the chat. We bit the bullet, we looked at flying all of us (family of 4) to the alps and it was coming in around £4k, a week at the touring site in La Grand Bornand in the feb half term crossing included at dover was £410 ! We have had to buy winter tyres and some more chains, (typically my others wont fit) and it will be a good couple tanks of fuel but revved up for it, now to smash all the hints and tips for how to survive in a motorhome in the snow ><

You will love it. Just back from my first trip abroad and first ski trip in the van. For years it has annoyed me that I cant take all the toys when flying and generally restricted to one or two sets of skis. Generally your own van will be more luxurious as well. The biggest surprise for me was that my daughter enjoyed the drive, well the passengering as much as the skiing. Cant see me flying again, unless I get a fast ball.
