New import from Germany?

I've been very disappointed with all the German dealers I contacted. If you can get yourself to Düsseldorf you will save yourself a lot of legwork. If you can't, let me know if you want any information as I will be there.
I don't think Hymer are exhibiting at Duesseldorf this year, though 🤔.

Is there any reason that I can't buy in Europe and keep in Europe? I have got EU Passport (thanks to Irish father) and a sister in France and my mother in Spain where we can park it. I can see us bringing in to UK for short periods but can anyone help with drawbacks or legalities?

Could be that the registered keeper name that appears on the doc should be a resident of the country where you want to keep it. Our German friend (former salesman at Durrwang) agreed his address for 6 months to act as our base if we wanted to forgo paying VAT on import to UK, but he would have to be registered keeper.

Don't know if same would apply to your situation.

You would need an address where it could be registered to you as the owner. If mother would put you on the 'padron' (electoral roll) in spain that might do it?

I've been looking at mobile.de for second hand MH and they do look cheaper than UK. Any advice would be helpful thanks. Maximum budget is €50k. Looking for low profile, end bedroom (not transverse) garage, dining area with swivel seats. Happy with LHD

Don't forget on s/h you now have to pay 20% VAT on import.
A lot of German dealers appear to charge the full VAT rate on s/h vehicles so you should be able to get that back but not on a private sale.
Under EU VAT law charging VAT just on the price difference is optional, need to check if buying from a dealer.
