New Forest Showground Camping Offer 17-24 May 2021 * Early booking discount code now ended *

For those that wanted to take part in the quiz sadly AC/DC who kindly organized this has had to return home so it won't be going ahead.

NB Cyclists. The forest Inn has no garden and the swan is 500 yards down the road with garden and pods. Can recommend flacks at forest Inn and pride at swan

Followed in the Mousy footsteps and went to Furzey Gardens today, drove up there as it looked like if we cycled might have to go on busy roads.

Some lovely photos on here (y) despite the weird weather - crazy having hot sun & brief hailstones all in one day yesterday! We were surrounded by bluebells yesterday in the Forest then a pony emerged followed by deer jumping right across the path in front of us - a magical moment for us but too quick to get a photo.

For those arriving today - Welcome! The field may be a bit quiet today if the weather is as predicted but sure to be lots of friendly chats as soon as it improves.

Some photos of the horses and their foals also the deer over the fence, I was surprised at how close they got.
So far have had a bike ride through the forest to Lyndhurst and the next day to Brockenhurst, both lovely places. The VW was for the bride and groom at the church in Brockenhurst.

From today until Sunday morning the hot food van in the Long Meadow Campsite is open for takeaway - they also have milk at £1 per pint, brownies, flapjacks & sausage rolls at £2.50 each but worth messaging them via their Facebook page <Broken link removed> calling on 07732350823 to make sure they have stock before walking down there & best to order hot food in advance too. The bread is part baked cooked to order at £1 per ciabatta roll or half baguette - no loaves at present. When we checked with one of the wardens at the Campsite they confirmed that they are happy for us to visit to pick up food & also to walk through on the public footpath into the Forest.
We will be having pizza again & tempted by fish & chips but it would be cold by the time we walk back as nowhere to eat it there. Might have to succumb to a cake or two having seen the photos above 🍰

We May put off arriving at the show ground today due to the weather. If we do go ahead for today does anyone know what the latest time we are allowed entry to the show ground? Thanks

Good Morning - can anyone help Hils and Glenns? They have lost all onboard electrics including the cab.

I have a multimeter if it will help. I am at the other side of Wendo55 at the far side near the gates and buildings.

From their website:
From Monday 17th May from 12pm - Tue - Wed - Thur - Fri and Sat from 9am until 6pm. If you are planning to arrive outside of these times, you must arrange this with Apple Tree Exhibitions on 01805 603943

Hi, due to work commitments we're leaving later than expected today so won't be arriving until after 6pm.
I've called Apple Tree for their advise and arrivals up until 8pm today will be met by their staff and shown to the pitch, however, if you arrive after that the security gaurd will let you just inside the site and you'll be able to pitch up in the morning. Please have your booking confirmation to hand either paper or on your mobile and as the staff are now onsite at the exhibition, their contact number is 07442509630.
See you all soon! Guy and Teresa.

Come down to the rollerteam towards where the 3 water fill ups are and about 30 yards from the bins. I have a 3into 1 fangled thing with some form iPad connector on it
Edit. Noted that now sorted

Arrived at last, found Wombles and said Hi, thanks for the welcome. Took an hour and a bit longer due to M3 being closed!

Corinium Duo not far from the entrance, JBX on the plate, please stop by and say Hi later (off for a stroll now).

Anyone go into the show today? Heard that not many exhibitors have turned up due to the weather. Was planning to come down tomorrow as staying at Verwood.

Thanks

Calshot was gorgeous this afternoon. Wife sunbathing on the beach with, if you stretch your imagination, the Isle of Wight in the background and shelter from the searing heat between the beach huts.
No crash helmets were taken off in this expedition.

It won't take you long to go round.

We weren't looking for anything and managed to elongate 30 mins out of it being nosey.

We went around in less than 10 minutes, I think the weather has really put a downer on it.

Sadly we are a 'no show' this weekend.
I've been looking forward to meeting a few people on here since booking back in September? However my wife watched the weather forecast on Wednesday night and said no way. Back to the 'rallies' section to see what else looks interesting 👍
