New Fiat locks itself

Hi Dash I had a dreamer living van until last month, and if you go into the menu on dash, you can disable the auto locking
Not the same thing. The menu option is only to stop the vehicle locking over a set speed.

I had that on my Peugeot boxer 2019 l had it remapped this year and now it doesn’t do it,it only resets the alarm.some years ago I had a...

I have emailed Fiat Professional about this, but, I'm not holding my breath for positive result.

After my VW camper locked me out, I always make sure I have the (now Fiat) key in my pocket before I go outside anyway. It becomes a habit.

I like the auto-locking that kicks in at about 20 mph and wouldn't disable that setting.

It's not the locking at 20mph, it's the locking of the cab doors and the Habitation door, after a minute or 2 when you open and exit through the Habitation door, say in the morning, and you have left the keys inside the vehicle, I know if you exit through the Habitation door and open the cab door it will not self lock, (it sometimes locks again after a hour or 2 )it's when you are camping I want this self locking disconnected .I hope this is now fairly clear what I'm attempting.

That is why SpeedyDux keeps his Fiat key in his pocket at all times as I try to do. I also have the belt and braces separate manual key on me at all times as well.

As I have said before the problem is in the brain of the vehicle if you can get in touch with a mechanic or a company that remaps vehicles they will be able to sort it for you

I had a locksmith make a key blade which is well hidden on the outside of the van. (It's also not obvious what the blade fits)

As the van has other security, they door key, if you found it, would not permit you drive it away.

If I had this problem I would fit a door switch to the hab door and connect it across the passenger door switch.

Not too technical with your idea , what Will your idea do ?

As you open the habitation door the vehicle would think you have opened the passenger door and disable the auto lock until the next time

The dash menu will not let you disable locking when stationary and ignition key removed ! ! ! It will only let you enable or disable locking when pulling away, and then unlocking when you put in park, or apply handbrake I think, not 100% . . . (Depending on Auto/Manual)
Oh and PVC's wouldn't suffer from this as hab door is a sliding door, unlike a coachbuilt, totally different setup.
Supplying dealer peed me off as salesman emailed me a while back, said there is a mod for hab door using magnets.
So I booked it in last Mon, dropped it off 2.5 hour round trip in 2 vehicles. Then told it can't be done as Adria wouldn't do it as a warranty claim 🙈 Said Ok I will pay you to do it, they said we won't do it as it will effect the warranty in the future.
So I asked what the ruddy mod was and I will sort it, they said sorry we don't actually know of a mod, or why Rob my salesman declared there was one 💪 Nearly, as blew my top.
