New Dealers (James Johns Cross)

You have still got to get across the Channel and get through 'Southern Softies Land' to get home.

Which route are you taking?
Do you think I'm daft enough to tell you and risk them ambushing me on the way? 😄

Not that I'm scared of them but I'd rather not waste my energy swatting the little blighters. 🤣

Yorkshire is God's Own County?

Only to the Yorkists.

I think the name is fine. This is motorhomes not random widgets from China where research will be minimal.
If I’m spending more than a few hundred quid online, I’m super diligent in my research, as I suspect most people are.

The clue is in the line, “Gods Own County”.
If it’s good enough for God …….
It’s good enough for all. 😉😜🤣

It's only redeeming feature is its easier to wild camp than in the heavenly South that's if you can put up with the cold and wet.

Think you will find that Yorkshire has only been described as 'Gods Own County' since 1995 when Yorkshireman Nigel Farndale wrote a piece in Country Life magazine. Not exactly definitive, since the Ancient Kingdom of Cantiaci has been God's fave place to hang since before the Romans built their first aquaduct.

But anyway, back to the OP, once the new workshop has got a web presence, I'll be booking in to get some work done.

It took me ages to find, and lock into my collection of good guys, St Johns Cross. So it may take a little while to remember AJM are the successors. Good luck to all.

Trouble is. if they moved t'noorth, then every time a punter came it they'd say '' 'OW MUCH ?!?!?!"
Which is not what you need for a start up business.

Dahn Sarff, they are more likely to say;
"I say my good chap, you are clearly not charging enough, let me introduce you to my Venture Capitalist who can quadruple your business over the next year"

You may sell your sole, but who cares, as you ask you Bahamian servant to fill up your cocktail glass as you contemplate the sunset over your infinity pool with the Caribbean backdrop.

I hope not! We are not far short of 1000ft above sea level!
That was where the nomadic Somerset people lived when the rest of the land flooded!.

If you look at the etymology of the word 'Somerset' it is literally the nomadic people dependent on the summer place, which they could only live in when the floods receded (no doubt leaving very fertile land behind for the season)

After the Roman occupation, large areas of Somerset were a vast industrial wasteland due to the mining of ores, particularly lead, tin and copper, which meant the entire area was under populated for 800 years or more.
Hence King Alfred could hide there, in an unpopulated flooded marshy wasteland.

Has the place improved recently ? ::bigsmile:

Well they’re building on the levels and marshland affected by the tides……muddy mess on estates being built. The carpark of a shopping centre built about 10 years ago is being dug up as it was all build on marshland that flooded during high tides (it’s about a mile inland 🤷‍♂️)……it’s now sinking. 🤔

Subjective to whether or not its improved. ;)

Good luck to him.
If he takes the after sales customer service ethics from his dads business, then the sky's the limit for his new venture being a success.
And lets face it, judging by some of the comments and reviews on here over the past 5 years regarding some dealers, any effort to make the customer come back after securing the sale will be an advantage over some of the competition.
Maybe he will be the start of a radical shake up? - Much needed imho!
All the very best.

Good Luck to your son and his family on their new adventure. The best bit of advice I can give is the same I was given when I started out on my own, from my old boss at the time, a self made man.

"You only need two books, one for paying in and one for paying out, as long as you have more going in than going out you'll be fine" Something that I've managed to stand by to this day.
When we started our business in 1999, we were also given sensible advice from a successful local businessman, in almost the same vein. He said, success is not how much money you make, it’s how much money you spend.
