New bike Friday

Mines not got a parachute on the back, is that a Cube extra.

Sure is.....well not true...it's my overnight bag...10 litre is adequate for 3 day ride...in fair weather.

Could make the 10 litres of beer last the 3 days at a push, think the sloshing noise might be annoying when riding though:LOL:

Refilling points were available throughout the ride......(y)

It arrived on Wednesday and we are just getting acquainted.. been out on couple of tips and done just over 50 miles.

She is a lively bike, eager to go, fast and comfortable.. a real dream to ride.

She weighs in at just a tad over 8kg .. 18lbs

we both started road cycling in ernest last year, and planning a few sportive rides this year and hopefully a bit of credit card touring..

we've always had bikes and taken the kids with us, now they are grown up we do it on our own..

We also have two Specialized RockHoppers for tracks and trails.. great bikes if a bit heavy

photos to follow

This is a fun sportive nearish to you: https://www.pushsport.co.uk/boudicca/

thanks..
yes there are several near us this year ... haven't booked any yet.. we went on the Ipswich swarm last year.,

Have a look at the Dunwich Dynamo - London (Hackney) to Dunwich beach overnight at the end of July. No entry fee, great atmosphere and a great ride.

had a look.. don't particularly like the idea riding at night.. and not free.. unless I'm on the wrong site https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk/product/dunwich-dynamo-xxvi-2829-july-2018/

The site you looked at is for the transport back to London. You would have to get to London - I am taking a coach which collects from Lowestoft, Darsham and somewhere else and will drop me off close to the departure point - that is the cost (£30). The collection from the beach to London is Southwark cycles. There is no cost to ride the event.

Cycling at night is amazing. Leave London around 8 and stop off a pubs, cafes and pop up refreshment tents on the way. It is only dark for around 6 hours and the view of red bike lights ahead and lights be hind is great fun.

How are you getting on with your Reaction Race 500 ?

Seriously looking at a Cross Hybrid 400 for Mrs Ridgeway, 18kgs when the battery is removed is a big appeal !

If that question is aimed at me. I love it 100% happy with it.

How easy is it to remove the battery Mike

Just an update on this thread. Just to say I am so happy with this bike. I have had it for a while now so it’s done some miles but not enough as work got in the way. We are in spain at the moment and the wife wanted to go out on the bikes for a short hop. Benicarlo to Peniscola, only twelve miles all flat so I rode with no power on, she was on her Freego but not bike fit so was on leval three. I would recommend Cube bikes 100%.

We love ours for track and easy single track riding. I'm a bit wary of the weight of mine on anything very technical but Martin doesn't have that problem.

We've found we are riding three times the distance on these bikes in a similar riding time to traditional mountain bikes, so so much scope for recce-ing new routes.

Wouldn't be without them now.

My wifes Cube Cross Hybrid has some 700km on it now although it's used 5 days p/wk for the dog rides. I think my wife still feels it her most prized possession !!!

Really nice bikes and ours isn't too heavy with the battery out.

I was riding mine with the battery in stilll. It was just a challenge to myself, battery off and in the same gear. My legs were burning though at the end after the 12 miles, on the way back the wind was against us.

I rode mine on an undulating circuit around a lake in Norway using a combination of battery and leg power. I got 41km on the display before losing the first battery segment. Very pleased with that.

I've just got the Cube Acid 400.Absolutely love it averaging 18miles a day.where I live is very hilly and I was forever pushing my old iron up the hills. It got where it was no longer enjoyable to go out.Now the only thing that keeps me in is crappy weather. Some say it's cheating but I have never been fitter,I don't use power all the time but those bloody hills are a pleasure to ride up now with a big grin on my face.Ok they may be more expensive but I would recommend to anyone who is struggling to get fit but likes cycling to invest in a healthy way of getting about.plus knowing you can go further with the knowledge that a bit of electric will get you home comfortably.

No I wanted the black one but they give me such a good deal on this one I could not refuse. And my mate can wrap it so can have any colour I like but the red is growing on me as I also like red.
How are you with Orange?
