I think I have have dropped a clanger, as all the campsites I've tried to book are full, we are only needing one night (30th/31st May).
Think we might end up sleeping in a lay-by unless anyone knows of any secret spots.
I would usually just wing it, but seeing that the sites are all full, I suspect that most Aires will be too :(

Haven't told the wife yet as she does like to worry and I'm sure the MF Collective will sort something out for me.

Any ideas anyone, I'm needing somewhere within an hour or so southwest of Arnhem so we can be back in Ghent for the following day.

Oh yes! Months ago we booked ferry from Harwich on 30th May and never gave it a thought until we tried to book some sites. We got the last pitch (probably the least popular one )on our first site.
You could look at svr.nl we aways use these sites, they are small farm camping. You don't have to be a member, but if you are you get a discount per night. There are hundreds of sites, and ones without ehu are less popular. You might get lucky.

Yes, we got stuck when in Germany, Koblenz, on ascension day/weekend. A kind owner let us share a pitch in the end.

:( I have a secret site but near Utrecht, so too far out for you I think ....

Sorry, forgot to add the helpful info…
We stayed at this site near Doesburg which was nice and friendly and the little town nice too. Not sure if in right place for you though.

It's slightly in the wrong direction but more than do-able as beggars can't be choosers!
PM me if you want to keep it secret😉

I couldn't seem to login to the SVR Website without paying but I have found a site near Arnham who are members of the scheme and they had one space left which I've nabbed.

Thanks for the tip, the site looks really nice, I'll post up a review when we get back.

Glad you managed to get sorted.
We have used dozens of these sites, they are always lovely and usually facilities are super clean and modern and wifi is free. We have booked 6 for this year. It costs €15 to join and you get €1 or €2 night off standard price so it pays for itself very quickly.
