Hi, I'm wondering how much I could expect to get a used motorhome between £30k and £40k reduced by from a dealer?

Anyone care to provide their experiences?

On and off for many years.
Nice looking vehicle.

Please check the payload and that the engine can cope - it's an automatic and in my experience (of much older) Hymers the engines were a little underpowered for the auto models. That may well have changed however.

Good luck with the negotiation.

A lovely van and build quality great for that year. Nice colour, It had been manual or full auto then we may have been interested ourselves.

Its a sprintshift which I don't like, too many bad reports of this gearbox, which is presumably why Mercedes stopped using it.

Paul.

Good info Paul, I wasn't aware of issues so will dig a bit. To be honest, I thought it was full auto. :(

Nice van and good quality make as for the layout I personally think it's one of the best as it's the exact same as ours, ideal for a family.
Lorger,
Is the table fully fixed? I read a review which raised this as an issue, as it cannot be removed to convert diner into a full lounge area. I'm sure this can be modified in any case, but apart from this it tiks our boxes.

Jaykay my MH is the Adria Matrix with same layout as this Hymer, my table is fixed but moves in all different directions so doesn't get in the way when lounging which I'm sure is the same with the Hymer. I personally think the layout is great for family as loads of room and someone can go for a sleep or rest on the back bed without getting in the way, Sophie and her friend alway use the back bed and we use front one when its four of us so they can have long lie.

Not badly priced that Hymer, had a quick look on Link Removed and vans around the same money.....

OK Just to check your aware of the implications.

Are you aware of the costs and various restrictions of driving a van over 3500kg in Europe. And your old enough to have grandfather rights to drive a 3500+ van?

Possibly a tad overpriced, but good hymers sell quickly. Good van.
Speak to Hambleton engineering about the sprintshift as they are hymer specialists. My previous geist was on Mercedes. Excel lent drive and good mpg.

Just looking around and found this from 2014.

The rules are different now, but how different?

Are MH dealers still factoring a reduction to make the purchaser feel good, or is it a captive market now?

Just looking
Every dealer and deal will be different wha I always do is get a figure I'm happy to spend for that deal and if I don't get it for that I walk away, so once you've seen the correct MH think of the max you'd be happy to pay and start below it.
Don't be embarrassed to offer a good bit less they can only say no and they always ask for more than they need.
Or if you fancy buying private we are in the early stages of thinking about selling ours.

If you feel confident why not look at private sale, not. E bay etc only ones you can physically go and see and test drive. That way you. Cut out the dealers mark up and the money you may save can be a buffer against any problems insist on a hab report and damp check, and hpi. Not that we are selling ours. Anytime soon but would look to sell our privately with a serious amount of extras, full history good van for someone. There are probably a few similar around.
