Need to re-think things, from motorhome to camper

Congratulations on your decision! I hope you have many adventures ...

My mum told me that when she was first married they had a huge Bentley open tourer and she had wooden blocks on the pedals so she could drive it.
She was very small only made 4’9” or so and was as light as a feather, how she ever managed to drive that thing I don’t know.
She went on later in life to drive a coach round the Isle of Mull!

i doubt the ergonomics of the cab will be any different as they will all be designed to fit the average driver what ever size the van is. As previously mentioned it usually the seat swivels that increase distance to pedals if the set boxes havent been lowered to compensate
many wife has no problems reaching the pedals on the Transporter and is much more comfortable driving the smaller vehicle

We had a T5 and loved it but when the need to carry a mobility scooter and my inability to dismantle and pack the bloomin’ thing happened, we went for a Globecar R PVC, which is still teeny tiny compared to many, and sloooow compared to the VW. Salesman kept repeating “its a van”. However, decision to swap was basically an age group/health/mobility thing. BEST thing about it - being able to stand up when it flogs with rain (as well as the fixed bed, no need to dismantle scooter, and storage space)
enjoy your choice ?? We are all different, with differing priorities and needs (And height, lol)
You are right in that the transporter will be less of a potch to park.
ps I am a short RRRRR and drive the van (no platform shoes required) ?

Well I guess we have made our choice and we need to see how it goes. but good to know we are not the only vw owners here...lol I don't need a mobility scooter (yet), but I won't be sleeping in the pop top bed....
