Need help topping up my reglo mobile sim

When you bought this originally at E.Leclerc did it work immediately or did you need to go online to activate it? I was looking at the same thing but couldn't work out if I could just stick it in my phone and expect it to work or whether it needed activating somehow.
The woman at the Leclerc said you need to phone this number (forget what is was )and register it bla bla bla and use the code on the receipt , but nah we put it into the phone , turned on roaming , restarted phone and it worked. But just the other day I was typing information on the receipts that we in french into Google to try to translate it , and I noticed that it said SIM registered at checkout or words to that effect , so I think they registered it.

Its been a while since I bought one, but you do need to provide id so if you are in leclerc you are better off going to the desk and sorting that out, last time i bought one i did it online and had it sent to me (I live in france) I then had 14 days to to send them some id, in my case an electricity bill.

I am not sure what the procedure is for non residents.

The only thing i would add about french phone networks is that there are three main ones, Orange, SFR and bouygues Telecom, i believe Orange has the best coverage SFR is not bad but not quite the same coverage as Orange especially in more rural areas, i have no experience with Bouygues Telecom.

Reglo mobile is on the SFR network where as Free is on the Orange network, i am not sure about some of the other smaller provider's, we have used Reglo mobile for about 10 years and never had a real problem.

In Leclerc there seemed several options on the shelf, but I only paid attention to the Reglo one since I had seen it mentioned here. I need to go back to look again - and also pay attention to whether it is best to go via the checkout and take some sort of id.

Personaly i like the flexibility of Reglo Mobile (which is leclerc's own), usualy the sim cards are near the information desk, there is usually somebody there to help, some photo id and something with your name and address on should be fine.

I'm a non resident , I just bought it at the phone stand , provided my driving license , then for an address , I just gave the address of the aire I was currently at.
We travelled around a lot of France and the coverage was good from my point of view , I was able to stream YouTube content without any drama.

The ones I saw were just on a display in the general electronics part, not on the phone stand, so not sure what would have happeed if I had just taken one to a regular check out. I will look at the phone stand next time.

If you buy via the checkout you will definitely need your passport. Leclerc will not let you buy one without. I know, I tried it, before we got our residence cards last year. I ended up buying online and had to upload selfies; one left hand profile and one right hand profile. Felt like a criminal!!! LOL

I'm not sure whether I have got this clear or not - having bought the SIM, do you have to register it? Seems from one answer you don't really have to. Guidance appreciated, our first stop on leaving the ferry will be a leClerc for victualling, so I'm going to give it a go.

We're off to France in three weeks time, and may well try a L'Eclerc SIM card so I'm interested to know how you get on. Good luck.

As long as it is a reasonable size leclerc and not lunchtime or evening, there should be an assistant at the phones/computer that is willing to assist, or at least that has been the case with the stores around us, but make sure you go in with passport and something with your address on.

I bought a Reglo SIM for the first time this year when we arrived in France in May. They were on sale near the book and accessory section of Leclerc, St Pol de Leon, and paid for it at that counter, not the grocery shopping checkouts.

I gave the assistant my passport for identity and she activated the card for me there and then.

It worked straight away in our Avtex motorhome wifi router and gave us a strong signal throughout out 6 week trip.

As Reglo uses SFR, the coverage is excellent and there was only one location where we couldn't get a signal so we switched over to the other SIM card which is my Govivo SIM and roams when in Europe.

With help from this forum I finally found my SIM mobile number in the Avtex wifi management web page on my tablet. So I was able to find the text messages from Reglo including the SIM's mobile number.
I found the text messages by choosing:
Services
SMS Utilities
SMS Management
Read SMS / Send SMS

Also, I've heard people on here saying that they haven't been able to set up an on line account so hopefully this will help - You need to apply for a Leclerc loyalty card first, which is easy to do on the Leclerc website. Then you can set up a Reglo account and from there manage your top ups, change tariff and check usage. I successfully topped mine up that way while we were away. It's absolutely brilliant. Just remeber to choose a month by month tariff so that you aren't committed to an annual contract.

I hope this helps anyone thinking about buying a Reglo sim, as I've been helped here so much since I joined.

I managed to setup a Reglo account but couldn't do anything with it but didn't know about the loyalty card so probably why it didn't work.
Thanks for the info.

That's interesting because I wasn't able to set up my account until I entered the loyalty card number.
Now when I log in it shows my details and the tariff I'm currently on. I was able to buy a second month of dats on there at the end of the first month and then i noticed a tab where I can change the tariff if I need to.

I don't have a physical loyalty card as such though. As i signed up for it on-line, I was gave me a bar code with my loyalty number, so I have saved that on the home page of my phone so that I can scan it when I'm at the checkout of a Leclerc store.

Hope this helps.
