Depending on your personal situation there is another band of tax free interest available that gives around another £4k. MSE is your friend Personal Savings Allowance bit in this link: https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/banking/tax-rates/

That should be picked up by HMRC if you submit a self assessment. Particularly for pensioners on the State Pension.

We have a joint account plus Lorr has a separate individual account, we only received £50 for JA and £50 for JA. That’s pays for the flexi account for a few months.

Aaah thx for replies, was thinking it was a nationwide bonus as in national. Now realise it’s a banking bonus. Nice one! Now I need to tell mum she’s not getting £50 after all.
