N+B Polch factory visit 2017

Hi Robert

They were flogging wheel and winter tyre sets at 200 euro a wheel,

Fiat wheel trims 5 euro a pair, had to be the bargain of the day.

Still not buying, going to have a look around Morelo next week.

Martin
They re quite close to Munich aren't they :whistle:

Concorde, Phoenix and Morelo are all located within, or close to the town of Schlüsselfeld, about 175 miles approx from Munich.

Polch to Schlüsselfeld is 190 miles approx.

Well we arrived in Schlusselfeld and parked at Morelo, the last 50 or 60 miles in snow  and -0.2 outside.

Somebody is not happy, and it's not me;)

Your mission if you accept it.....So which model is the ideal replacement for my Flair?

Ohh I like a nice snowy Motorhome picture..... let’s have one then...(y)

Well we escaped the phone signal “black hole” that they call the Morelo factory, took a few days to realise they had WiFi along with free coffee and cake.

So, the N+B factory were on Smove production,

Smove bumpers as they don’t use standard FIAT.

Sides on so hopefully they have finished all the plumbing and electric work.

This is a finished Arto “lambo style” in the showroom,

And then it’s party time.

So anyway, it was raining at Polch so on Sunday we thought we would get out of the field before all the Fiats got stuck in the gateway and blocked it:LOL:

Somebody said we are going to Morelo do you fancy coming, OK(y)

But they said nothing about snow:LOL:

We got there in the dark but managed to find a spot to park and some hook up,

So next morning we manage to get a tour of the factory, usually you buy a van first to get this.

What surprised me was the sides were complete with decals windows doors etc before going anywhere near the chassis.

And more building work was done inside the shell.

And then it’s ready for some lucky new owner.

I didn’t ask but you will need quite a few thousands for this and a HGV licence.

So after about 4 days held hostage by Morelo and supplied with endless tea coffee and cakes we managed to escape wallet intact;)

We are now in Gouda and on the ferry tomorrow night,

I think Mrs Funflair might be sick of Motorhome factories

Thanks Martin, Morelo do work differently by assembling the guts after the walls. This is an issue when working on a Flair because although sometimes they provide an access, on other occasions not. For example to access the shower drain trap you have to clear a locker and remove a screwed in panel. Whereas over on the other side to access some plumbing the panel is held by Velcro. I would suspect that with Morelo's way access to everything needs to be easy as they have the loom to connect up. Is that how you saw it?
Thanks for the pics by the way.

Hi Michael

The wiring plumbing and some furniture was done before the sides but then other stuff after, the front/lounge furniture goes in after the walls and roof but that’s possibly to leave room to get the drop down bed in.

How very civilised, latte macchiato comes with syrup cookie and a pot of cream with liquor in the bottom, and sat outside with an open fire.

Nice one Martin, we like Gouda (thanks to your recommendation)

I notice a recurring step theme on your photos

no wonder they have such big garages

upload_2017-11-18_11-33-9.png

and they seem to have borrowed your own design minus the grass :)(y)

but seriously though that is a long way to climb up, or worse fall out of o_O I struggle with the double electric steps, would have no chance with that, but luckily I can't afford it anyway

David I think the Empire liner comes with an escape chute for long booze induced exits.

Did you manage the extended trip to Munich Martin?
Didn’t bother with Munich, guy at Conc factory said “noisy” and had not heard back from seller, also ran out of time after spending too long at Morelo.

Martin

Well, it just goes to show the power of prayer! Wallet intact after Morello factory visit. Result!

Seen 2 10 ton or so this last few months, they have an intriguing feel, in one way powerful in another a bit dated, but not seen internals.

The Vario Mobil is without doubt a serious high quality built MH and I do believe it’s a level above Concorde and then you have Phoenix which I think are outstanding.
I’m stuck with my C1 but if younger would go for HGV and definitely consider the Ultimate German MH.
