Finally said enough is enough ..

have cycled all my life, but now 75 have finally decided that an e-bike will suit me better .. not selling my road bike, not yet anyway, I still enjoy it, but it was becoming hard work.. and not as enjoyable as it should be..

So bought a nice step-though with 'sit up and beg' riding style .. it's like cycling in an armchair..

It's a BERGAMONT E-Horizon 4 RT .. German brand, build in Hamburg

Bought from e-Velo , Halesworth, Suffolk

a 2022 model reduced from £2249 to £1449 .. !

Bosch Active Line Plus.. 50 nm mid-drive with 9 speed Shimano gears and hydraulic disc brakes.

Impressed by the frame design and build, paint finish and components are good quality.. and the welding is excellent.. even the battery carrier is welded onto the frame ..

It's really is so very comfortable, and whisper quiet .. really looking forward to some long rides this summer in France ..

First ride last night

Sounds like you are going to get the smile back into riding and forget the pain of those long hills and windy days...
We kept our none eBikes for a short while when we first went over....but not now....
We are on eBikes 7 and 8......used, abused and sold on....on our neighbourhood we have 4 previous bikes with new very happy owners...

Smile is definitely back..

Weather has been lousy all week.. so not been out for a decent ride until today..

It was cold and quite windy, not ideal but wrapped up well and we took a 14 mile ride to the local forest and back via some country lanes..

Bike is lovely.. happy bunny .. can't wait for the better weather..

Done about 200 miles now and it's a lovely bike ride... very comfortable..

It has a 400wh battery and will do around 60+ miles on Eco mode.. which I generally use on the flat.. last run out I did 35 miles and still 50% battery left

Nice looking bike, we are looking at the moment. Could I ask how it's going after a month or so? I'm assuming you are still happy with it!

It looks a great bike. However, no roadie is ever going to think it's a thing of beauty 😍

yes, very happy.. thanks for asking
Jim, unsure of your recharging capacity from your motorhome, but when in certain parts of Europe recharging is free.
Bosch (nice choice) do a scheme of take your battery in whilst you're in a town and come back it's charged.
I LL find you the link

I see you already read it and some other charging hints

im not keen on step throughs, but it looks like a great bike at a good price.

Thanks for sharing
indeed, nor mine, but when you get to a certain age, getting your leg over a loaded carrier or top tube can be challenging .. getting 'your leg over' can also be challenging ..

still looking for a 'step through' woman .. :ROFLMAO:

CCP are ideal for you.
Local TO also excellent to guide you to free electric abstraction points.
We found Germany to be really good for recharging but had to take charger with you.

Looking forward to your holiday!
