My goodness, isn't it nice having a reasonable payload!

Blimey, worse than me, we only carry a couple of e-bikes, twin tub washing machine, spare cassette, spare wheel, table & chairs, tools etc. But have fitted 2 extra batteries, solar, sat dish and all the other bits you have to have.
Follow the advice of my female former work colleague who described how she managed to keep the kit down to sensible levels when she walked the West Highland Way:

'Well, on Day 1, you wear your knickers right side; Day 2 you turn them inside out; and Day 3 you swap with somebody else ....'

Forgot to mention, there is a Paddleboard to go in now. :giggle:
Starting to become a space problem rather than weight.

Out of interest took advantage of SvTechs weighbridge setup ar Peterborough, wondering how close I really was - they upgraded me 10 years ago when I found I was over the 3500kg.

Mixed result - front axle, no problem; rear axle was within 10kg of limit. But overall I was 40kg over. Hmmm. Then wife pointed out we'd got a big box of books we'd left in from Thetford, meaning to have a go at getting rid at Peterborough. On that basis I was probably (just) within limits.

But it's now made me think of all the gear we'd got on board that hardly ever gets used, not to mention about 2 weeks supply of tinned stuff "just in case". Also a couple of years ago I bought a rear luggage rack and box to give us more room and that easily weighs 60kg so we're going to have a go at life without the box. Also strip out anything that I probably can manage without - folding ladder, big windbreak, wife (no,no, didn't mean that!). I could, of course, only half fill the water tank, saving me 50kg (it was full) but I really prefer to have a full water tank as we prefer the quieter type of overnight stops, if you know what I mean!
