Anywhere up that North East coast is gorgeous ,stop at holy island, bamburgh castle, seahouses .etc etc. All on my list again for early July..Up the east coast, a night at Beadnell or along the Northumbrian coast, Berwick (maybe) across Scotland via Coldstream, Kelso, Selkirk, Peebles, Biggar, across to the Ayr coast and then head south through Dumfries and Galloway. You will run out of time though.
Edit: For fishing try St Mary's Loch and / or The Megget and / or Talla and go west via Moffat.
Love Braemar but a bit sad when we were up there last May as the heart had been really taken out of the place with the closure of the big hotel on Christmas Eve 2014. Lots of shops and restaurants and shops also closed - sad to see. Still beautiful area with the some lovely drives and walking. We are currently at the north east tip of the Trossachs, at Killin. Stunning beautiful area with some great walks, pubs and restaurants.
Leaving in the morning, and travelling up to Braemar.
....."and now for something completely different"
glorious scenery and fishing places abound throughout Scotland but maybe you might like to have a look at these engineering marvels. Follow the links.

They've recently started a multi million pound refit of the Fife Hotel. Shame for the place that it's closing has had such an impact on trade and I suspect employment.Just been talking to the guy who owns The Bothy.
Works at The Fife Hotel started last month, and are to continue for 2 years. Scheduled date for reopening is April 2018.
Its an investment headed up by the Swiss family who are leasing Invacauld Lodge.
Done this route several times in 7.5 m motor home and had no issues. Single track roads no problem as plenty of passing places. We prefer the west coast from Lochinver or the Summer Isles downwards and love Mull and Skye. Don't often wild camp so can't help you there.Hi everyone, just become a member today and looking for some info on travel in Scotland. We have a 4 berth low profile fiat motorhome (25' long) and wish to travel around the coast of Scotland taking the North Coast 500 route in May. As we are newbies any advise on this route would be appreciated ie- single track roads and wild camping on this route. Thanks for any replies.
