Motorhome Wi-Fi aerial

Please explain 'channel scan', the only scan that I am aware of is for the network provider.
You can't do it in the app you have to do it via the web browser interface or download a 3rd party app like Wifi Analyzer.

I have now changed to 5 ghz and the down load speed is almost double on my tablet ? So will stick with that for the time being 🙂
Bear in mind if using it in your house 5G doesn't travel through walls very well. On my home router I always set it to 2.4G only as I get twice the speed in the lounge on 2.4G compared to 5G.

Also you may find it doesn't work as well when you are outside your van especially as your van is a double skin alloy construction.

There’s a menu setting for the Huawei where you can chose WiFi frequency set. 2.4g or 5g
Typically a home WiFi router will run both networks simultaneously.
Not the little Mifi Huawei box tho 🙁

I feel a mess around, sorry investigation, coming on
Please be available for further instructions:Smile:

Well that didn't take long, no frequency option on mine, only 2.4

We have the Huawei 4G flex router (the bigger one) and I believe that runs 2.4g and 5g simultaneously, our Virgin router at home you have to choose which one to use on each device so I did the same in the MH.

I don't understand it but it works (y)

Thats interesting, I reset my MiFi to 5gh & on my new tablet it stonked along but phone & laptop failed to find MiFi . reset to 2.4 & all connected again ??

What is the best way to check if our Wi-Fi 4g aerial it is one from Motorhome Wi-Fi I have done a ookla speed check and it bearly shows any download and no upload using a three, I have now disconnected the mifi from the roof aerial and the speed has gone up to around 5.5 download and2.5 upload.
So it looks like it works better without the roof mounted disc aerial.

I don't know but ours wasn't working well this morning but now 10 minutes into the tunnels and its working but phone isn't

There must be a problem with the antenna or the cables running to it. Or possibly a fault with the MiFi which isn't allowing the external antenna connections to work.

You should see faster speeds using a roof mounted antenna. I would speak with Motorhome WiFi.

I have sent them an e mail so are waiting for a reply 👍
But did wonder if it was something I had overlooked

These are the tests I ran when I installed my Poynting MIMO aerial.

You need to do a speed test and see what the results are.

The text will be in the MiFi, you can access it through the Huawei app.
If you are having problems seeing the text via the app, take the 3 sim out of the MIFI and put it in an unlocked mobile phone until you've read the text then transfer it back.
