motorhome value

A friend of our just sold his 57 plate Rimor ford based whatever...private sale.
6 berth with large garage for £17000.... £500 less than what he payed 6 years ago. He was offered £11000 from a trader against a 2012 Adria matrix.
Just look at what others are going for like yours and try selling private. You never know.

Your friend certainly bought wisely there, losing only £500 in 6 years is excellent.

The old adage I have heard & bear in mind when buying and selling motor vehicles is "you make your money when you buy "

In other words, the deal you make at the time of purchase is more important than the deal you make on selling. Probably because you are in the driving seat when buying and on the back foot when selling.
If you can Buy for a keen price, it defrays the depreciation at the time of selling, but pay over the odds at the time of purchase, this will make the depreciation seen doubly bad.

That is why I imported my van from Germany. It is RHD, UK spec. Identical to UK dealer supplied vans
I paid £43k but the same UK dealer supplied van was around £55-£57k
After a few years my van will be worth the same as the UK dealer supplied van & if I might expect to get £35k for my van... Representing £8k depreciation, vs £20k depreciation If I had bought the UK van.

you find an equivalent model of hymer, same year, same facilities, similar mileage and condition. being a rare model does not always mean it is worth more sadly

I see your point but I have looked all over and can't find one the same, it would be nice if rare meant expensive

In manufactured goods "Rare" usually means nobody wanted one when it was new.

Most rare classic motorcycles are rare because they were awful. :D

Theres loads of adds in the MMM mags and Practical asking you to ring for a valuation. You may even get one online, that would give you an idea. If you PX against anothe M/H then at present seems to be a good time as we have done deal at back end and this time of year and got good deals both ways.

Simon at Howard’s would be correct that your European Hymer would not be listed on glass’s guide as it tends to list mainly UK manufactured motorhomes and again this is only a guide price. Any dealer would generally look at market comparisons to establish a guide price for you..

Are you still after a price for your Hymer?

If so, were you looking for a retail price (with typical dealer offered backing support), a private sale indication, a part-ex trade in valuation or a straight buy only valuation?

You are more than welcome to PM me the full details of your Motorhome and I will get you a price tomorrow.

As again already suggested here, it can only be a guide price and to be honest a Motorhome is only worth what an individual is prepared to pay for it and more importantly what you wish to sell it for.
Everybody has a price they want to achieve or what they wish to sell it for..

If I don’t hear from you good luck with your sale

James
