Motorhome & US RV show Shepton Mallet

Water in a container?

Regrettably we will not now be coming.

The replacement of our water tank has now been arranged but cannot happen until after the show.

I haven't received our tickets yet but should in the next few days, I don't know if they are transferable, but if so can someone else use our booking. Our booking is from Thursday.

Sorry I won't be seeing all you folks at Shepton :cry::cry:

With the amount of water due at Shepton this week you will be able to leave a bucket out or use a spoonge to get it off the grass. It seems I will not have to go miles on the buggy this year with the water container to get it... is'nt life wonderful free rain.. only thing that is free now days.

Seriously folks, I do not know about the water in our location, but when I used to park in the disabled area I had to travel a fair distance to get water.

If any one as as less mobile as I am, I am happy to do as I do for our van and collect water on the buggy .. saves a lot of back pain and normally quicker.. no you will not impose, just ask am I going to take Ezzie for a walk near the water stands.. which I do all the time it seems.

Have packed the wet weather gear... seems I am going to need it.

If no real wind the RV awning is going to be in use a lot to keep things dry.

Just finished the loading of the RV and we are ready to roll on Thursday... even putting extra ropes on board in case of the need to tow off or be towed off.

Have adjusted the settings on the alarm so I hope that is now going to make for a more peaceful weekend

Bob:Eeek:

Now then Bob nowts free including rain (it's only free whilst falling) once it lands we pay stupid amounts to water authorities we then pay for the aftermath to be cleaned from our vehicles, spose I ouhgt to do some work now.:Sad::Sad:

Ezzie thinks it free

Well Ezzie (Our St Bernard) thinks it is free as you will soon find out if you have a fire bucket outside.. she thinks they are 'free' water stopping points and will stick her nose into anyone's... but point taken, as I know from the water bills.. we have to pay two seperate accounts one to supply (now by meter - a lot cheaper) and one to take it away.

At least the heavy rain in Kent overnight put some badly needed water in to the pond. Has been down for a long time and still has a long way to go to get back to normal. - yes Ezzie drinks from there as well.... one day she will fall in.. it is 5 1/2' deep - used to keep Koy... even the local foxes use it. Plus Ezzie has her own bucket in the garden which I seem to always be filling from the hose and her house water bowl.. so watch out campers yours will be next for her.

Bob:thumb:

Attention all shepton funsters.

ok boys and girls, swimsuits and wetsuits at the ready, there is a 20-30% chance of rain forcast everyday. It woulds appear my sunshine request went astray someplace. Booking obviously closed but latecomers can be accomodated just pay at the gate and head for the Fun area. I will be leaving on Weds so will be unavailable for queries. Please note the following I have no problem with any of you selling bits and bobs but please NO FOR SALE signs. dogs must be kept under control at all times there are a lot of dogs coming to the meet and not all will enjoy being visited so kept on leads please within the camping area.
Lecture over have a great weekend everyone.

No worries about the weather Bob.

Once the Marquee is up and I have finished my erection duties I will get my little instrument out and we can all have a laugh (and a singsong.?) :Rofl1:

(ps you will need to look at posts from Malvern to get what I am on about )

I was quite astonished to wonder what the erection duties entailed

I am shocked

Erection duties??? little instrument?? I have heard it called somethings but 'little instrument' is a new one on me. Pray tell me how are you going to get 90 people (45 vans at the last count if I am not wrong) in to the pup tent I saw at Malvern? - remember I am a large person add Sue and Ezzie and we would take up a third of the space... I am not sure I want to see your' little instrument' thou....:Rofl1::Rofl1:

Bob - that does not have a little instrument! and not sure about errection duties.:Eeek:

tea and cakes

Noting Lincoln has tea and cakes on Saturday - do we have that Roger? and if so do you want Sue to bring one? she was baking last night (freezer) and I am sure she will donate a cake to the hungry masses if required... beer I draw the line at, but donating cake that is OK.

Bob:Laughing:

I had not thought of Cake what a splendid idea, if any other funsters would care to bake for a Sunday beano please feel free.
I note a number of items on offer for sale so add the following.
BSA Meteor Mk5.177 with scope (zoom 3-9 x 40), in excellent condition, good spring and Scope. New Breech seal required, will be looking for around £85 if anyone wants a bunny basher let me know and I'll bring it.

Sue is bringing a Lemon drizzel cake... starter for the table on Sunday morning.

Bob

SWMBO has been banging on about apple trun overs, made with our own apples no less, so I'll see what she thinks later.

And before any of you women folk chime in, I am basically banned from the kitchen due to the resultant chaos, prime example, we have a smoke alarm specifically designed not to go of if you burn the toast, does when I do toast:Doh:

I still have a replica Navy colt for disposal 9mm blank firer

I still have my two blank firing guns on the RV - I am looking to dispose of the Navy Colt 9 mm - Brass stock, metal barrel under barrel discharge, wooden stock, engraved with ships under sail on the revolver section... made in Italy by Pietta - same as the black powder ones for sale in the USA.. but with blocked barrel - 6 shot cock and revolve chamber (I have 9mm blanks for it).. has a holster.. open to haggle or those that just want to handle them (real weight as the original 1860's version)... NO FIRING THEM when loaded - makes Ezzie jump. Plus we do not want an armed response team appearing what with Rogers leathal .177 air gun and my two blank firing guns.. I had them on at Malvern as the show allows them in public.. Bath & West a little more refinement needed. (do not go much on fire arms even on a cowboy.. who said that!!!:Rofl1:)... And Roger I have my Buerau of Indian Affair police badge (not Marshall) with me.. it is on my Indian pouch.. not a hand bag as some say..:Rofl1: .

Bob:Eeek:

Will not be home made at this short notice but will bring a cake offering for the table

Bugger only just spotted this, I sorned my Brave today also
I think i may have to jump in the car and get all envious at you folk in your RVs
Is it worth coming just for the day?

All is well

Today I have made some temporary plumbing modifications so that I can suck water from an aquaroll, pending the water tank replacement. This will mean we will have hot water, the loo will flush, the shower will work  and Shirley will be willing to come.

The only unsatisfactory bit is that the access hatch the hose emerges from will not close, and with rain forecast it will be a bin liner and masking tape job.

We should arrive around 6-7 on Thursday as we can't leave until mid afternoon due to a hospital appointment.

Many thanks to Motor roamin for offers of help and Wildman for encouragement.:thanks:

Pleased you are sorted we will be there work allowing mid afternoon, armed with a marquee:RollEyes::RollEyes::RollEyes:

Cooking beats whipping:Rofl1::Rofl1::Rofl1: or so I am reliably informed, don't involve an engine so I would know b***r all :Eek!::Eek!::Eek!:

I agree unsorn it

Trouble with coming by car is you do not really have a bolt hole... If it rains and I am told it is going to the pup ten they are putting up is going to get mighty full... my awning will be packed with all the funsters fighting over the freebee's in the box... no the plastic box is not free nor is the table they will be on.

But if you do come in the car you can always say hi and move van to van someone will take pitty on you if you have a badge on.

Also it might have been worth letting a few people see the water ingression problems you seem to have on the panels...Someone will I am sure give you some advise or suggestions.

Hope you make it and will look us up at Bath & West

As Roger said, TAX IT and get yourself down:thumb:

We did the car thing for our first show at Malvern last year, not fun when you see everyone having FUN, you know it makes sence:thumb:

plus you will miss the cakes

Sue is finishing the drizzel cake tonight... just about loaded and ready to roll in the early hours. Still need to load the trailer with the two buggies and the wheelchair - hate doing that in the rain as it takes about 50 minutes to get them on and covered and lashed. Just a cse then of backing the Winni out turn it around and back it in on to the trailer and we are all set.

Chili is cooking in the oven, the burgers are part made (I make my own to cook on the Chobb unit).. easy lazy life.. who is kidding who... loads of work before you get to that bottle of wine or can of beer. Please god lets not have rain all the time this weekend.

But I still would rather do it in a motor home than a car.

If it is fog on Sunday will it mean we will not find the pup tent in it? that could be good as then I will get to eat the lemon drizzel cake that Sue has for Sunday morning tea/coffee.

Come on Roger pray a bit harder...

Bob

Ok I'll tax the Brave, but is it to late to get a hook up and book on line?
I won't make it till Friday afternoon, and will have to leave Sunday.

As I understand, at this show you can pay on the gate AND get into the FUN area, usually you get pushed into general.

Personnally, we have 2 big batteries and a solar panel but the onboard genni is on standby just in case, though to date we haven't really needed it, depends on the weather (use of heater).

Likely as not there will be a few ginne's running now and again, there usually is.

PS This is going to turn into a bit of a Winne convention!

:cry::Sad::Sad: Bugger Dam'n blast! We can't go
Unfortunatley we have a prior arrangement that cannot be undone.

When is the next big meet up, maybe I will be able to attend that?
