Motorhome Tours escorted tours

It's also great to have an evening out with other nationalities
Yes and even walking back to our van 5 minutes away took an hour before I got back in as people sitting outside their vans were very friendly and chatty😁

Unfortunately you don’t get many places like this☹️☹️

We did an ad hoc travellers trip to NZ, not in a motorhome but in Air b b. It was amazing and only one stopover was not up to scratch.
Nelson was the only place that rained cats and dogs. All the arrangements were made by me except for one week with friends in Your area. Loved it.

Please come back. We need your dollars.

Our first Christmas when full timing we went to the rally at La Manga. We thought that if we hated it we'd just leave but everyone was so friendly, and the restuarant was so good that we just threw ourselves in to the festivities and had a great time.
Not done a rally since though.
We went on the coach from La Manga to Benidorm which was much nicer than we expected it to be . We found a small restaurant in the old town where they didn't speak English and the menu was small. Had a fantastic stew there.
It just showed us that pre-conceived ideas are often not based on real facts and we try to keep an open mind. Not always easy though and we've been caught out by the reality being even worse that we'd thought it would be occasionally.

We have recently returned from motorhome tours , tour to Italy see my earlier post and I have to say what a brilliant time was had by all with no regimentation and you must do this etc . But with plenty of adhoc bike rides trips to the bar or out to breakfast by who ever wanted to go with no pressure either way . What a better way of making new friend and with the tour owners giles and linda escorting all there tours you are guarranted small groups and personal attention . We enjoyed it so much we have just booked 2 more tours for next year you could do it yourself but we prefer the stress free option and enjoying our time with other like minded people . Roll on next year .

Who did you go with? There are a few companies. Ah I expect you mean “Motorhome Tours” . We know a couple of people who went with them to Norway. They are newer than GB and Crossings.
They liked them.

We did Norway with GB and are going to Turkey and Cyprus with them.

Never considered tours before until I saw one advertised for South America. Starting in Lima and heading south across the Andes, through desert and included some fantastic sounding spots ‐ about 35 days I think plus travel each way.

Admittedly it is for expedition type vehicles and I would assume the majority would be German thus providing a large potential language barrier. Many of the German travellers we have met have very good English however.

Waiting for costs but I'm expecting it to be astronomic

Yes it is motorhometours.co.uk and that is who our next 2 are with as well they have a good video of our tour on there website showing the enjoyable time we had.

That Bonterra excursion 9.12.23 until 8.1.24 looks good value at £799, includes campsite fees and a couple of excursions.

If any funster has any questions about our trip send me a pm . We had loads of excursions and group meals in Italy and it has given us the confidence to do parts of europe on our own

To keep the thread off topic, like all good threads, I'll double in spades carolyn's like of cruises. Marmite of course but we've had around ten cruises all but the first 15 years ago with friends from 80 odd miles away who we only ever see when we cruise. No need to join in all the stuff on board, on sea days we play board games, listen to the occasional interesting lecture or find somewhere to read and do the daily puzzles and quizzes. Land days we share the price of a cab and do the whole island in the case of the Canaries, Madeira or the Caribbean for the price of one ship bought tour. The longest we've spent at sea is Tenerife to Antigua and that was spent around the pool and trying different places for lunch. The last one we had was December 2019 when the Ventura broke down off Tenerife and we spent 5 extra days on the island which enabled us to do things the one day stopover didn't. Missing Lanzarote and Lisbon was more than compensated by the 50% refund we got on our return. The house in the Faroes and the wish to do other things is the main reason we are contemplating selling the van although we are hesitating in making the decision.

Edit: for cab read taxi, not motorhome cab. :shake:
We like to cruise too, it´s a different experience to the MH and of course gets us to places that the MH can`t, next month it´s Iceland with P&O from Southampton, Madame likes the British cruise ships (she is German) and wouldn´t be seen dead on any of the German ones. Have done a few now including a Transatlantic from Southampton to San Fransico, it gives us a variety, MH March/Oct, a few winter sun breaks over the winter with New Year in an new city /location if we can.

A guided MH tour?, not at the moment but never say never, life and desires can change, not everyone has the same level of confidence and ability, if it works for you then go for it.

To add to my earlier post the motorhome went in February and we've spent winter doing stuff around the house and garden before taking a P&O cruise to the fjords in May with one half of our cruise partners. Sadly my oldest friend from 1964 passed away in December but after a few months grace his wife decided to come with us and brought one of the family along who was not only good company but handy as our gopher and table saver. We've got a farm cottage booked near Stratford on Avon next week, partly to offload my model railway collection for auction at Warwick and Warwick and to see some local sights. There is life beyond the motorhome (some may say not as we know it Jim).
