Done, but I have to admit this is why I am getting a toad

And that's exactly why they install height barriers. The F*** you I'm all right Jack attitude.I can see at least 8 car spaces there and no one parked opposite the motorhomes that could be if needed.
That's half empty in scotland
Nothing wrong with the attitude either ...carpark looks clean and tidy and no obstruction
No they install them because they can.And that's exactly why they install height barriers. The F*** you I'm all right Jack attitude.
Signedwhether overnighting or simply trying to park for the day there are more and more restrictions being placed including height barriers etc
Theres a petition going to have these restrictions looked at again
Whether you use sites or wildcamp is irrelevant this also covers places to park for the day to visit towns etc
Therfore its in every motorhomers interest to have available parking places

Manners are what's needed. No they install them because they can.
The same as they blame the motorhomes for the rubbish and the shit when we all know its the cars that do it.
If that carpark was full and cars parked where they shouldn't because they couldn't get parked i might agree with you but it isnt and they aren't.
Hence no problem .
Clear markings and a bit of signage needed if there's a problem.
Thats my view of folk in pubs the nowManners are what's needed.
Had there been an attendant on duty I wonder if they'd be willing to pay for their three and four spaces used. I very much doubt it.
As said, plenty of markings.
You talk of wanting specific spaces for MHs but I showed this to a few regulars in the pub and they all came up with similar one word answers to describe the behaviour. Pathetic. Selfish. Ignorant. Thoughtless.
If that's how MH owners are viewed by Joe Public, good luck with the petition.
As said, plenty of markings
Good ideaTam is it ok to add this one here too rather than creating a new thread.
South Ayrshire Council are asking for opinions on closing the roadside parking along the North of Ayr seafront to provide more pedestrian walking/cycling space (there is a massive low green for walking & already a cycle lane! ). They are proposing this along with Sustrans, a charity to make it easier for people to walk/cycle, Transport Scotland & the Ayrshire Roads Alliance. As well as the roadside parking they’re unnecessarily thinking of closing, there is also a good sized car park & an old, disused toilet block at the South end of the beach which is ripe for being used to accommodate overnight campervan/Motorhome parking with facilities! If as many of us as possible could contact them re this, I think it could help our case! Remember to ask them to ‘not’ remove the current parking as it’s what the actual consultation is about!

This is another service to add to my arsenal for when I eventually get my van sorted, such a good idea, guaranteed space, presumably well kept and reasonable prices. Having never toured France one thing that puts me off using aires is that when you get there space might not be available. It might be worth looking into the history of previously successful online petitions, it won’t take very long there haven’t been any. The revoke Brexit petition gained more than five million signatures but a total waste of time as the government completely ignored it
It is also worth remembering that we once had many more places to park, but councils across this green and pleasant land have decided rows of white boxes are unsightly and worse still some of these white box owners are a little unsanitary with a dislike of paying to park.
I really don’t see why cash starved council’s should provide anything for an increasing popular but minority pastime.
In my humble opinion one way of solving this issue could come from private enterprise, if a company like
BROKEN LINK would build private aires that are barrier controlled with the usual facilities we require. Camping car parc have 200 sites in France, many of which were the previously free aires that have fallen into disrepair.
Sure thingTam is it ok to add this one here too rather than creating a new thread.

Common senWe went a walk along there last week and never saw any bay markings at all. I’m guessing the sand covers them up, so how would a tourist like me know there were marked bays? Even in the photo they aren’t visible.
Off to sign it now Tam.
Same way as we all know how to park at the side of the street, common sense! We went a walk along there last week and never saw any bay markings at all. I’m guessing the sand covers them up, so how would a tourist like me know there were marked bays? Even in the photo they aren’t visible.

That's fine, our local isn't keen on travellers for customers anyway.Thats my view of folk in pubs the now
Its amazing how we all have different opinions.
Its weird because if that's your van you took the photo next to then you weren't parked properly either.Common sen

Ah yes that old lets take a photo of motorhomers giving us all a bad name postI wasn't parked,
I was leaving after being parked correctly in a 7 .5 metre xlwb van. No trouble with access behind me either.
I pointed it out to highlight how inconsiderate some motor home owners can be on one hand then, on the other hand moan about being persecuted by car park owners.
The fact you have no problem with this behaviour just goes to prove the point.
i
No I'm just politely saying I don't believe you I think you parked where you stopped in order to take photos of other motorhomers not doing what you do so you could post them and attempt to look all high and mighty. You need pictures now to show you how to park?
I didn't take a picture of my fish and chips I had at Sutton Sea either, doesn't mean I didn't have them though. No I'm just politely saying I don't believe you I think you parked where you stopped in order to take photos of other motorhomers not doing what you do so you could post them and attempt to look all high and mighty.
As others have said there's no markings visible , you stated the car park was full ...it isn't. ....basically curtain twitching at its best and nothing new.
The same unfounded nonsense reported in the press to stir up bad feeling.
Only in this instance its the enemy within .
Well done
