Motorhome Names

Hi folks been thinking lots on this subject after a lady member (drat my memory I can't remember her name ) on my Ashover Vintage Festival of Lights gave me the idea

Our motorhome is named Maxine and I made my own name sticker for her

It was suggested that I could for a small fee manufacture similar for others

so I have given it some thought and am asking who would like a name sticker for their van .

I can offer them up to 1.2m long (right across the bonnet) and a huge variety of Fonts (as supplied by MS Word/Publisher) and in primary colours (black, white, red, blue, yellow and green)

I plan to be able to post directly to you although at present not sure of cost as need to find a decent packing tube

SO.......
the crunch line is how much would you pay ???????

I was thinking at at minimum of £5 (five letters and less) plus postage - with a pound per letter as a standard fee

What do member think ????
Please be respectful not doing this as a business just as offer to friends

Have a word with Eddie Stobart - you could make a fortune.

Dave

Can you make me one
It’s called....
Start you ba&£ard !

until July this year my auto trail was called Beemo, but she has gone now and I call the latest one my auto sleeper Bunny B, saying that, there is a sticker on the van which I transfered from the last one which says BOXERMOBILE this seemed appropriate as at the time as I showed my Boxer dogs and stayed a many show grounds. Now I have a Pergeot Boxer so the sticker still applies, I didnt have it made though I found it on a site and it has Boxer dogs on it as well as the slogan. Some things just seem to happen, go with the flow.

Our motorhome is Jemima and the satnav is Nigel ..... We haven't named things before so maybe it's a bit of senility creeping in......

I don't think I would put a sticker on her as if and when we come to sell there may be residue and the new owners would want to rename her.

As far as the satnav is concerned it's easier to say "Ask Nigel" than "Program the Satnav". Having been lead astray by following the instructions in a book as to how to get to a site we now "TIN" - Trust In Nigel. He isn't infallible but he has managed to get us where we needed to be several times.

@Madcaravanner
I think it is a cracking idea, like many, every vehicle we have owned has had a name
Duckato being a Sprinter obviously.............

But if you have the capability I suggest you go beyond thinking just names
My business 'Criftins Campers' should be up an running in the spring and I will be plastering our company Van and our private vehicles with appropriate advertising & branding.

So my question to you would be more along the lines of what materials would you be using 1.2M is a big sticker!

Is it UV stable?
Is it prone to shrinkage
how flexible is the material to cope with surface variations
Whats the fixing method, jet wash proof, muppet proof etc?
Can the letters be printed on to a clear background material or will alll the back grounds be white?
not everyone has a white van

A while back as Technical lead for the Rover 75 owners club we had a load of stickers created for a one off event.
the material was short lived but was simply perfect for that particular requirement and was dead easy to remove afterwards.

Food for thought is naming things, that could be precious to you.
Question: how would you react if you had a large RV, or a large Premium A Class, and your neighbours/Friends saw it in your drive, and as they walked past it said " Oh I love your CAMPER VAN!!!!!!!!
I have a few choice names for them in the moment!:swear::swear::devil::devil::devil:
Or am I being TOOOOO Snobby?
Les

All of our vans have been “the van” to me, including our large American RV.

Well if Captain Dave of BA thinks it’s okay to nickname all the A380 fleet ($350million each) then my Bailey shouldn’t object to being called Sybil:D:D

mines Matilda.
Our works van here used to be called Herman ( as it was german before we re-registered it)

I've given every one of my 736 vehicles names

What's more I can remember most of them :p

Current MH has just been christened Toby

Don't think I'd put a sticker on him though

Can you give us a few ideas from you many names please, we have recently bought our first MH and we are trying to think of a Female name, not rude but a likeable gentle name perhaps a little
unusual.

Our first Hymer was an MLI so we decided to call it Mille.

Then when we bought our next one, not an MLI, we still called it Millie as it was too hard to get our heads around another name..but if Swmbo and I need to be clear about which van we are referring to in conversation, the new one gets referred to as Millie 2.

Our first motorhome was called Brian and we did put a sticker with his name on along with a picture of a snail (he was slow and we lived in him)

Present vehicle is called Hamish - to answer original OP we would be interested in a small name printed (must be easy to remove in the future as already stated) we planning to go on the internet to order when I get round to it - along with a printed highland cow (I know I know I never grew up)

Just realised OP you asked about how much we would be prepared to pay. Have a look on the internet to get an idea - it’s not expensive to buy and sites allow you to pick colour and fonts so easy to set up. I would think you are in the ball park figure with the pound a letter though - maybe a slightly higher minimum? Good luck

We call ours "Freya" because we enjoy watching Vikings, and we have a "Valhalla Bound" sticker on it already. However if I'm talking about her at work she is referred to as "the van". :)

Not sure whether our current motorhome has a name (not my department) but the dog is called Nell but I won’t be putting a sticker on her any time soon, and the same goes for the motorhome. Not saying you can’t put one on yours (dog or motorhome), it’s entirely up to you, of course.
Thank you very much!

Ours is called Brian, he even has his own twitter account!

Bertie as in Bertie Burstner. Or as when I told my dad about what we had bought, a what Burst ear.

When this thread started we had Nessie (the monster van). Now we have Arthur (our new to us Carthago) and he is called
Arthur as he has a round table!:getmecoat:

My daughter has a campervan based on a Mercedes vito, so there was only one choice of name, Vanny De Vito !!
