Putting your number on an 'open' thread not a good idea.

It could lead to dodgy calls from

Microsoft man asking for access to your computer
Parcel delivery man claiming to have a parcel you have not ordered
Bank man just blaintantly trying to get your bank details

Other than that good luck with the sale

No one talks to me,so anyone who calls me can become a friend except the ones from Africa who want to give me a million dollars

LOL !!!!!!!!!!!

My number(s) have been all over the interweb for about 22 years mate
It is the mobile number used to back up the business land line I used to have
It is still on many many web sites all over the world as to this day I still offer tech help for the CBR1100XX
I think it is a bit late to worry about it

This always sounds like age old paranoia to me lol. It's like people who cover up their registration plates.

I'd ask what the CBR1100X was but even after explanation I'd be none the wiser.

Whatever happened to the phone book?
Never published home phone was always x directory. I rarely get scam calls and never get junk mail unless its from farmfoods

Have always had 2 numbers

Not paranoia but only give my number to those I may want to talk to. Not everyone wants or needs to publish to the who world.

I don't gey the numberplate thing pay loads of cash for a 'cherished' number then hide it.

I received one through the door earlier in the year,
Mine was A5 size and about 3/4" thick and went straight into the recycling.
mind you its a hell of a lot thinner than it used to be.
It would have ended Joan Rhodes' career.

She calculated that during 25 years as a strong woman she had torn up 25,000 telephone books and bent more than two and a half tonnes of nails.

I 'get' Jaws response to publishing his Mob. I also agree that we have become more and more
averse to giving out any and every piece of information even though it is available via ordinary
sources, ie Phone numbers and vehicle registrations.

However, I give the following as a caution, which is diametrically opposite to my usual thinking.
I have posted it before but it stands repeating.

The Emmits, (ie. us) run rallies for MHF.
Once upon a time, I posted our bank account details on here in order for the Funsters to send us the pitch fees.

I won't go into all the details but on more than one occasion, that account was the subject of a removal
of monies as a result of a criminal forging a cheque to to show our account details. As a result, we contacted our bank
and matters were resolved.

I will stress that the criminal action did not access our account except to remove the monies by the creation of the cheque.
Every person that had received a cheque as part of our day to day financial dealings at the time could have done the same
but it was our publication, on an open forum, that allowed that criminal action.

We have mitigated the opportunity for such action being repeated, however, it is not possible to conduct financial
transfers at this level without there being some trust between the parties. That is why we do not publish the
Bank transfer details on an open forum. That Bank account, used on that occasion, does not exist any more.

Edit. I would add that the demise of cheques will make it less likely that the above action will be repeated.

Very, very fast and yummy, especially for a bike made in 1996 (knocking on for 180mph IIRC).
I used to lead the fast group on our Sunday rides for a Honda Hornet Owners group (I had a 900 Hornet) and one of our mates used to come along on his Super Blackbird with his Mrs on the back and the thing was ridiculously fast! I remember the exhaust outlets resembled a Gattling gun as this was the bit of the bike I saw most of
