Motorhome cleaning prices

We have just had Tourshine restore our motorhome, £550 two men working non stop for 4hrs the Motorhome looks like new now, they don't polish the roof though, not a problem as I always keep the roof clean, bit of an ocd.
All scratches and marks removed from the windows and headlights look like new.
They removed the decal from the bonnet which was peeling off and looked shabby, don't notice it missing.
Paul recommended us getting an all over cover to protect against the sun and gathering leaves etc which do spoil the roof.
Looking at the quotes of less than £300 I wonder how good a job you would get, considering we paid £600 10yrs ago to get the hull on our boat polished £550 seems a fair price.
All over cover - I can see a new thread about to start!

Just wondered what the demand is for a mobile motorhome cleaning service? Do many funsters pay to have this done or would you rather do it yourself .Maybe you wouldn’t trust anyone to do it ? What price would you expect to pay for a full clean of the exterior/interior?
Thank you
20 quid start tomorrow!

I’m getting lazy. I would gladly pay someone to do the exterior. Wash, gel coat revival and polish. £200 cash. South Cambs. I might have it done twice a year if it’s vg.
I think it's worth £200
For that price you will get idiots using a pressure washer.
Takes me about 2 hours to wash mine if I only do a quick roof wash with a brush. To do the roof properly that takes two hours on its own.

For polishing to put a coat of polish buff then wax & buff takes 2 - 3 hours to do one side of the van OK a professional would probably do it in ½ the time.
I'm inclined to agree with you Lenny it takes me most of the morning to wash it properly, not including the roof, I wouldn't
like anybody walking on my roof always seems to be a problem after e.g. leaking sealant around rooflights etc.and certainly won't allow anyone to use a pressure washer which most say it's part of the job, so I've go to do it myself...just sayin....

Are there no automatic car/van washes suitable for a MH. There are lorry auto washers??

As Lenny HB says I won’t let a pressure washer near my MH so I am stuck with DIY even though it takes me about 2 days for a proper job, I worry about seams and seals

I will be using a pressure washer to apply the snow foam but not for the actual cleaning which will all be done by hand .

Good points 👍🏻. I am currently in a sales role . Some overnight stays away that seem to be increasing and fancy a career change . This may not be the right thing for me , just asking about a bit 👍🏻
If you're near Dorset I'm interested as can't find anyone down here.

Haven’t found anyone around Peterborough that offer anything other than the full works costing £100s.

Just had ours done on Monday. £120, they done the outside including the roof and treat the windowseals. Everything onboard thier van so could do it at a storage yard though they did ours on the drive. he worked on it for 4 hours and I was really happy with his work. Will probably have it done at the bigining of each year. they are based in Horley www.adventuresonwheels.co.uk

Wish I was closer . Based in Herefordshire 👍🏻
Save them up if people will wait until you've got enough in one area to justify a week away, just an idea. Or ask folk if they have friends/neighbours who might be interested.

You have a motorhome!

Have a weekend away to the location of one of the cheaper services.

I'm not sure cheaper is best on this one, after houses MH's are the most expensive assets most people own. Would you have the cheapest tradesman working on your house?

Great idea . Drive yours over to me next time and I will do it 👍🏻😎.
Plenty of room on the drive and pub opposite 😀.

How about similar to Mike at motorhomevalets. Somewhere close to you, CL or similar, and we come to you? Overnight on CL, go for wander next day and think about all the sweat we’re not losing 😄
I have contacted a local CL today and suggested this kind of partnership. It would certainly help to get things started 👍🏻

Was saying a few weeks back that it’s surprising CAMC don’t have some sort of valeting on offer at most sites in conjunction with a third party like you see for cars in supermarket car parks.

I guess it depends on what one side want to pay and the other side wants to charge, they are both going to want something out of it

I would hope to help the CL owner by increasing their bookings .

Same here. It's bringing up a shine on the GRP caps, which is the most time consuming. :(

Nope, nor me. They all want £350 - £500, which would include a ceramic coating, that would only last a couple of years. :(
Most I contacted hadn't done a MH before........so I have steered clear. ;)

Swifter. Good luck with your plans. (y)

Cheers,

Jock. :)
