Motorhome Campsite Recommendations – Southern Germany & Northern Switzerland

Hi all,


I've traveled to Europe in my motorhome several times in recent years and am now planning another trip. This time, I’m looking for campsite recommendations in Southern Germany and/or Northern Switzerland (due to limited time).


My key preferences:

• Close enough to a town or city with public transport access for easy exploration
• Planning to go end of July
• I only have 9 days, but I love the driving – for me, the journey is as much a part of the holiday as the destination!

If anyone has favorite campsites in these regions, especially those with good access to cities or scenic areas, I’d love to hear your recommendations.

We mainly use Stellplatz in Germany as many of them are so good, and really convenient for the towns, but we have been to this site 5 or 6 times as really like it. It is a big busy site, but if you book the larger pitches there is plenty of room, and lots of facilities on. There is also a bus stop on site that takes you to Salzburg for a day out.
