Hello

So I am once again trawling through looking at all sorts of MH, I've always loved Hymers but have never looked inside one, in fact I've only looked in a brand new Peugeot one whilst camping.

My OH isn't too keen on the look of the Hymers as they obviously look odd to him, but not to me (in our price range) 9-13000k (+3k allowance as suggested)

So onto the other sorts of MH's some of them which were white once, but look a bit grey now with stains on them, some look a bit boxy at the front etc etc.

On Ebay, a lot of people are watching Peugeot Boxer ones. Some MH seem to have no interest at all and don't sell, (I've been on the completed listings too). So are all the ones with lots of people watching are these more desirable brands or are they more reliable? There's a lovely Hymer with over 150 people watching it.

There's a few I like but they are mostly over 100 miles away, big trip just to look at them, without the knowledge to buy. It won't be till next year that we will get something, but once we start looking properly and see something miles away, do we discount it and wait until there's something closer

I'v set my heart on a Hymer but have to be sensible if OH doesn't like them and look at others too.

So many questions, sorry but I'm just pondering..............xx:active:

The new Hymer Dynamic line & Exsis look much smarter & nicer with the new front end and they have a double skinned aluminum body.

Are they in my price band? Up to 13k?

So the cheapest Burstner elegance was 20k so very lovely but too expensive.

Love the AClass ones but it's the Hymer ones with the Luton sleep area ones that look boxy, but having looked at a few there really nice inside and in our price range.

Do they have the same reliability as the A class ones? Oh might favour them more, although one minute I think a fixed bed would be better for him. But you do loose alot of space.

Looks like the a class pull down bed is lower and easier to use?

Rambling on again

I,ve always loved the look of A class Motorhomes....they look like Dinky cars from way back. My hubby hated them. However, layout and accessibility are chief concerns for us. And automatic, which limits our choice. Can't have internal steps or high garages. We bought our Rapido last February. Nits an A Class....and guess who loves it.....yep! Hubby. Ne too of course. We couldn't be happier.

I spent months going to the dealers. Looked at new and used Motorhomes. Layed on beds, sat on loos, sat in the drivers seat. Shoes off and went in the shower. Lowered over cab beds. You name it and I looked at, operated and generally was all over it. As a consequence I think we bought two great Motorhomes for our needs. One cost us £3500. Was a rust bucket and leaked, but it allowed us to try Motorhoming out to see if we could manage ( Steve is disabled and in awheelchair) so I have to do everything like empty loos, grey waste, water, gas and electric, so we needed to see that I was happy with all that. Said rust bucket got us to Poland and back. This spurred us on to upgrade and we now have our wonderful Rapido. I think the time spent looking and owning a cheap one enabled us to find what worked best for us so that we didnt go wrong when we purchased a more expensive one.

Top one is Flo...Rapido

Bottom one is Winnie....leaky rust bucket :D

Brilliant, I'm not sure we'll be able to afford one of that price in the future, but I'm hoping whatever we buy will last long enough for us to enjoy it, hubby not disabled but nothing very has medical probs, so I like you will be doing most of the every. When we camp I do it all, 6berth inflatable monster. But it's doable, he does the pop up furniture and even then he struggles, not he's fault just lost he's congalative part of his brain in a stroke. So unable to work stuff out sometimes.

So long as love your story and pictures, your. Rapido looks gorgeous

Don't forget when looking on computer TRADE prices are NOT the private sale prices .. so maybe expand horizons or go to some rallies or meets for day out .. walk round the vans parked up and you may sed a for sale in window ... for sure come to the motorhome fun section and introduce yourselves.

I'v set my heart on a Hymer

Thats a mistake in my opinion. Set your heart on the layout you want on a chassis that suits you. THEN you can start differentiating with the different makers, sticking to just one means you could miss something that would suit you perfectly. That said; if you won't be swayed and heart is set on 'Hymer no matter what' then its a good choice, they make superb vans. But others out there can be just as good, maybe cheaper, and these days, just as well made (y) . Best of luck. '\

I've started looking at others to get an idea of insides and I've see loads I like, just need to look at some in the flesh, just can't get OH motivated yet, I'm so excited and he's not until we're actually ready to get one.
So I'll keep asking and researching to keep me going lol
