Just had my renewal with Caravan Guard declined due to the post code of the storage compound we have used for years. 🙄Can anyone recommend other companies. They suggested Adrian Flux but looked online at reviews and they went good!

I was very happy with Safeguard and only moved due to them not insuring my van for business use.
I would avoid AF like the plague after seeing how abysmally they handled my friend's claim when her van was broken into and trashed while parked in her own space at home. :swear2:

I have no allegiance to any, keep moving each year. Last two years LV has been cheapest and they do a cheaper one for more than one vehicle. No idea on storage policy though.

We are with Comfort we use storage on a farm there is CCTV and the gates are locked after 7pm. We needed to have a tracker and alarm. Whilst I was on the phone trying to secure the insurance the customer services person from Comfort was on google maps looking at the location.

We are with Comfort, but van is on the drive. As Bolti says - until you have to claim .....!

Used Saga , Comfort and currently with LV all ok but LV doesn't cover plastic windows, be warned.

This also happened to me with Comfort insurance. They didn't decline, but the premium went from £340 to £890!! I'm now with Flux....

We switched to NFU several years ago after issues with both Comfort and AIB. Not the cheapest but competitive.

seconder for SAGA , paid out within a month when my bessacarr motorhomr got written off back in nov 2017 money in bamnk before xmas

Couple of shouts for AIB already, but I found them really accommodating for non standard vans, and a good price.
Mike.

After shopping around for many years for good priced insurance, i went with liverpool victoria a few years ago, i have the multi car insurance one motor home, one honda jazz, and the wifes smart car i did'nt even shop around in 2022 as the total price was reduced from the previous year, L V works ok for me .!

I’m currently insured via Motorhome Protect who advertise on here. Had no issues so if price at renewal remains competitive I’ll stay with them. However as said previously, you only really know how good a company is when you need to make a claim.
Mine is off street parking in a designated parking bay adjacent to a property and I found a lot of insurers wouldn't quote because of this.

Lifesure, formally MCIA (Motor Caravan Insurance Agency)... been with them many years now, for both cars and motorhome.. One claim was pain-free and promt
At renewal time they will contact you and quote for your current insurance Company or if they have a better one from another insurance company they will give you option to switch..
usual to swap and change every couple of years or so. 👍

Caravan Guard wanted to put my premium up by around £200 last September. Went with Adrian Flux, who were cheaper than CG had been the year before, without any hassle. That said, you only find out how good an Insurance company is when you need to claim ...

This year I searched on compare the market. It came in at £190 compared to £280 from my previous broker one of the well known ones on here. I think the problem with any insurance is you don't know how good it is until you claim and most brokers use several different underwriters so you are just dealing with a middle man.

I move around dependant on price/cover and was with Adrian Flux who paid out on a claim ( a 4m long scratch from a tree branch ) on picture evidence without quibble.

After an insurance claim you normally have an axe to grind with someone and few people are likely to post positive reviews.

We use LV as part of a multi vehicle policy. Touch wood no need to claim for the van so far, but we did need to claim on the other car and LV settled very efficiently.

Any recent incidents you are aware of at the compound that have increased the risk?

No but to be honest it can be a bit ropey there. Good news is we've found better storage ( more expensive though🙄) and nearer to us, so well go with Caravan Guard who gave us the best quote. 😁

I have a multi car policy with LV but when I asked about adding my Majestic 125 they told me they don’t insure MH so I ended up with Adrian Flux. Will try LV again this year at renewal.

I've had a multicar policy for my car & motorhome for about 3 years with LV Direct. They cover the a class windscreens & plastic windows, I checked after seeing posts on here. There are differences in the cover provided depending where you buy from - you need to check that it is LV direct (y)

Strange they insure mine

I am happy with Safeguard, having claimed twice for damage. It was handled well and I get free AA cover at home and abroad.
