To be honest I haven’t ridden it since I was about 14! (Over 40 years ago) my late father was given the Douglas c1975. He got it running and we had a bit of fun with it for a few years. My father had other projects so it was left in the corner of the garage and forgotten about for another 30 years. In 2010 my father decided to restore it. Unfortunately he passed away in 2012 with the bike being approx 75% complete. I have completed some work but it is not yet running.
Yes - carbide lamps.
Engine is 2 3/4 HP. 350cc. 2 speed gearbox.
Manual oil pump.
Regards
Ian.

It's amazing, just 100 years ago we rode such things. Wonder what we'll be riding in 2120 ?

It promised so much.

I did test drive an NSU ( was it the R80 ? ) which was OK but not much difference from the driver's seat.

An Ro80, I believe. My grand uncle used to have one.

Whatever it’ll be, it probably wont run on wheels.

A world where an engine that runs by burning liquid will seem as ancient as carbide lamps today. A bike of 2020 vintage will look so odd, a crowd may gather round it.

I can imagine a petrol engine bike in a motorcycle museum with a sign on it saying this 2020 Honda Fire blade is in full running order and will be demonstrated running every hour, last engine start will be 4pm. Imagine the gasps as it fires noisily and smokely into life ? in fact they already seem a bit old hat..
Right, that's enough thinking for today ?

This picture of our Harley in Germany 2010, and because of my wife’s disability I had the Harley triked in 2007 at great expense.
