Mosel sept 2022

We are at Ediger-Eller with garjanco. It is very busy, as is the Campsite along the lane.

There are 2 x Stellplatz here, one on your right as you come into the town from the Zell direction, and one right in the centre of town, close to the passenger ferry jetty, again, on the right opposite the Chapel. That's the one we are on.

It is their Wine Festival this weekend, so we are staying put. ;) With the promise of Black Angus Beef Burgers, Flat Bread with Teriyaki Chicken, and fine wines, it seems rude not to.?........as Gary would say.

The weather has been mixed with warm sunny days followed by thundery wet nights. It's no wonder their wine is so nice. ;)

Fuel here is €1.11cpl, which is the cheapest we have seen on the Mosel, and is the same situation as back in September 2020.

We are off to Cochem on the bus today, but will be back in time for the village's Festival opening parade.

Cheers for now,

Jock, Rita, Gary, and Janet. :)
Do you know if there is still room on the stellplatz ? We were heading that way tomorrow JockandRita before we knew there was a festival

Seeing as its *rammed* in the Mosel ,so that we don't add to the congestion, does anyone know what the Alsace/Ardennes are like ( for overnight stops) at the moment?

Unfortunately sueandjohn, it is rammed, and I suspect the other one is too. :(

Cheers,

Jock. :)
That’s put the tin hat on the Mosel for this year, temps are not looking great either. We are late starting this trip because of circumstances, I think we’re going to head south this autumn, perhaps along the Dordogne river. Have fun.

Only places rammed are ones that have their wine fest weekends going.
Had a few showers today but temperature much more pleasant than a few days ago when it was overly hot.
You have a van you are on holiday you can go anywhere you fancy. (y)

Rain and thunderstorms most of the day at the Lieser wine festival yesterday, and the festival is not much to write home about. :frowny:

Weather along the Mosel looks fairly dyer for the next week, so we have headed back into France for some warmer and dryer weather.
Now parked up in Bruley with bright sunshine as 26c. (y)

We’re at Mehring with a riverside pitch, the sun is out and it’s beautiful

Interesting we found it by accident, a few years ago it was proably the best wine festival we have ever been to.
Lovely weather 30° all weekend, locals really friendly we were sitting a table chatting to one of the local councillors his views on BX were entertaining. Brillant firework display set off from up above vineyards lighting up the whole sky above the town.

Same as. We had a wonderful weekend, I guess they have lost their mojo.🤷‍♂️
Perhaps the extreme weather impacted adversely on this years crop ?

We use the Knaus site but it’s a 15 min walk into town that involves steps up to the bridge, perhaps find a spot on the road and day visit.

that’ll do tbh, I can do 15 mins no probs and steps are ok

Going down them after alcohol might be a bit tricky though 😉🤣

We have also been happy with the Knaus site when we have used it.
Bread van comes each morning

Thunderstorms yesterday evening at Minheim, overcast sky's at the moment.

Moving on today a few clicks to Lieser for this weekends wine festival.
What are a few clicks I’ve only ever heard that on American war films?

We are in Trier today nice sunshine after all the rain the last few days :giggle:

It's fine, the sky looks angry but no rain today. Currently in Ediger-eller.

Sun Camp at Graach an der Mosel is good for Bernkastel. An easy walk or cycle ride into town, about 2km away.
€15 per night including services and EHU. Plenty of space here and the weather looks good for tomorrow.
